Liverpool simply can't go a whole season without another striker, they'll have to sign Owen, Heskey or Drogba.

My misses gets Christopher Biggins and Bradley Wiggins mixed up. We had some odd conversations while the Tour de France was on.

I heard earlier on R5 that they can bring Carroll back in January even though technically it's a season long loan.

They probably have recall clause in the contract but I cant see how Carroll would be any better in Rodgers team than he was last season, he suits much better in the style of Big Sam.

Speaking of Man City, Scott Sinclair going there, how many games does he think he's going to get? That's one of the most depressing sights in football for me, good players like him and many others going where the big money is, and largely disappearing from view.

Or, a footballer backing his own ability to try and break into a Championship winning team, playing in the Champions League, and playing against the World's best players and clubs against staying at Swnasea. Why shouldn't he go? its his shot at the top and good luck to him. Some have succeeded (Dwight) plenty haven't. But its not always as simple as being just about money.

Good point peter w. These lads haven't got where they are today by lacking confidence.

No, but doesn't mean that Peter isn't correct. To become a professional footballer you can't be low on self-confidence. He'll have seen the likes of Milner, Rodwell, Johnson, Barry and Lescott go to Man City, win the title and play in the Champions League. Why wouldn't he want to go and give that a try? Worst case scenario is he can always go back to a mid-table side in a few years time. He's be daft not to.

Incidentally, I know that Scott Sinclair was absolutely over the moon when Chelsea offered him a contract work £6k per week. From what I gather he's not particularly obsessed about money.

Re. Liverpool's striker situation. Benitez predicted a few years ago that Gerrard would become a striker when he got older.
