according to this site

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/statistiken/wettbewerbe/transfers_GB1_2012.html

only Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and Southampton have a higher net spend than us this summer...

Southampton have outspent us, that just shows how low we have sunk as a club.
As usual you're right Dave. We should have spent Multi Millions on players past their sell by date on stupid wages we can't afford just to prove that we are a more macho club than the next.l

I think it was sarcasm on Daves part surely ??
Yep, bloody sarcasm button isn't working on my key board either.

it did then sir

But I have a really good excuse....
I've been out and had a few beers, logged on here and had a few beers, and am now settling down to a beer...

My point about the net spend was more to do with the recent criticism of Lerner.

You have a really good excuse for what Frank? Have you just been released on bail from Steelhouse Lane lock up?

For missing Dave's subtle sarcasm!

And no, I'm still inside but the Internet provision is so good there's not much point in going home!
They let me out for home games - "thearapy" apparently!

We have basically spent £20 million net. That is pretty decent backing from the board in fairness, and Lambert has spent it how he has chosen too. In 2-3 years we could be looking back and saying how well it was spent, considering how many players we have managed to get. Vlaar, Karim, Lowton all look very well priced, Westwood comes very highly rated for 2 million and Benteke looks a real handful, and will only improve. Very good window IMO and almost certainly got the ability to spend in January if need be.

For Swansea at home;

-----------------Guzan------------------

Lowton-----Vlaar----Baker----Bennett

----------------El Ahmadi---------------

-----------Delph-------Westwood------

------------------Ireland-----------------

--------------Bent------Benteke---------

Subs; Given, Lichaj, Dunne, Agbonlahor(if fit), Bannan, Herd, Wiemann

I still think Clark should partner Vlaar. I admit Baker did look good in the second half against Everton though.

Is Clark banned?

...good point.

I based it on Clark being banned, if not, on bench instead of Dunne, also forgot Holman, ahead of Bannan.
Surely Clark served his one match ban against Tranmere on Tuesday night.

didn't he get a straight red, if so, isn't that a 3 match ban?

Not for profesional foul, only 3 games for violent conduct..I think!
Offences like serious foul play/violent conduct are 3 game bans, which increase if a 2nd send off in the season.
A 2nd caution, and being sent off for 'denying a goalscoring opportunity' are a 1 game ban...No such thing as being sent off for a profesional foul :-)
