I wouldn't be surprised if he'd got off the phone and started swearing loudly at his wife about Jim bloody White. Honestly, "get under your Aston Villa duvet" indeed, what a grade A idiot.
What was that about for us that don't have SSN?

Jim White, crap Scottish presenter said as a 'joke'  'Paul dont get under your Aston Villa duvet just yet there are still things happening tonight on transfer deadline day.'

Did Bassett get that question from the Alan Brazil book of "Questions that aren't actually questions but just really long sentences that are actually statements "  The twat!

Wasn't NRC supposed to be playing for a CL club by this point in his career?
Sure I saw something earlier about him going to Forest!?

Overall I'd say I'm reasonably happy with the business we've done.  The only sticking point I can see is that we haven't brought in a proper holding midfielder.  I imagine that PL doesn't think he needs a specialist midfielder for that position though and that the whole team will pressure the ball and attack.  Certainly makes things more interesting, not so much for the weekend but after the international break.

The gist I got from that was, he tried to hawk Matt Lowton around with no success and that Lambert has taken a quite ridiculous gamble with his transfer business.

Interesting that Bassett and Dowie both think Westwood is a real talent. Not seen a bad word on him yet.

Good effort Irish Villa- I fear the 80's TV reference went over a lot of heads- I can't remember the actresses name but she was fit.

It was me with the "Makepeace" comment.

Didn't Westwood say that that's pretty much what he does (and Lambert told him he'd suit his plans well); nothing fancy, just holds it and makes simple passes to his team mates?

Which is nice.

"We'll make mistakes but we'll give it a right good go"

Ta mate.

It's certainly better than the previous "we'll make mistakes and lose games".
Or "I will make no mistakes, it's the players faults and i am the best manager in the world and we will go to the Theatre of Drama's and give up on the way there, before we have kicked a ball". It is great to have a Manager at our club who wants to make things work, without all the Bullshit of MON and without all the negativity of TSM. A M Manager who knows his targets and, for a change, gets value for money, with real promise. Cannot wait for Sundays game now. Bloody hell, i will have one hell of a bad head on Monday.

Southampton have outspent us, that just shows how low we have sunk as a club.

Yes, after both Dave Bastard and Iain Donut said that Villa are shit and will be going down this season because they have no decent household names or leadership.  I exagerate slightly to make my point.  But they said something along those lines at around half seven this evening. Then go and praise Lambert for being brave.  Two faced twats.
