While i'd like a so called big name player, am I the only one enjoying us going after players i've never heard of and us seemingly having a plan B when a transfer target doesn't work out?

Im with you on this!  Before it used to be Plan A and if it didnt work out, we were left clueless for a few weeks until something else came up

Ashley Westwood is 22 a playmaker very good player. Exciting signing. If we get Benteke been a good day.

Anyone know if Westwood is a decent prospect, I trust PL of course but wouldn't mind one target I actually know?

I think that was plan A all along, spend next to nothing on lower league players.  I can't say that I think it's a great plan or that I'm enjoying it.

while we need some experience it's a hell of a lot better than paying way over the top for players that aren't worth it, or good money for players like Hutton. I'm willing to give this a chance and give the manager the chance to build what he wants to build. After all, given the bollocks of the last two years isn't it what we need to do?

Much more excited about Westwood than Stephens so far.

Well I've heard Crewe fans are pissed off and in bits because of how good he is.
Just like Leeds fans were when Delph left them!?

I hope the boy does good!

Delph still has the potential to be a good player. Not ready to write him off yet, personally.

He might be.  But why buy more of the same when we already have the likes of Delph, Gardner, Clark and Bannan etc.  Promising midfielders isn't an area we seem to be lacking in.  Quality players who will get us ouf the shit, is.

If he's captain of Crewe and three Premier League teams were interested I'd say he was decent.

Ashley Woodward -   the money that are after

However, whereas Swansea are believed to have put together an offer worth £500,000, Crewe are thought to value the youngster at closer to £2m.

Championship side Blackpool are also reported to be monitoring the situation.

Crewe boss Steve Davis said: "We've had a couple of inquiries about Ashley and I've had a chat with him because I think the speculation has been unsettling and affected his performance a little at Brentford.

"He responded with his usual performance at West Ham. He has been professional and, like with all our players, we would only consider selling if our valuation is met and it is a good career move for the player.

"I will be happy when the window closes and hopefully we have everyone still with us."

That's twice I've read Stephens being called Stephenson. Has he got a rocket shot?

Agreed. I was really chuffed when we signed him and massive shame about his injuries. I have faith he will come through and do the biz for us in time.

Because Gardner is out for a year and Lambert seems to want Clark at CB?

No, I like the way Lambert is going about this and think he will have enough to keep us up this year and we move on from there.

We need to win more games.  I can't see that this transfer window has improved our chances of doing that.  I don't think it will also put more bums on seats.  The Randy Lerner lack of investment continues apace.
