I always rated him during his time at liverpool, he just never had a run of games to be consistent enough.

Rather have him in the team than CNZ put it that way!

I thought he looked class in the under 21 tournament for Holland before he signed for Liverpool.
He never delivered on his potential at Anfield.

He's one of those classic 'there's a good player in there somewhere', but even at £2m we need someone to hit the ground running right now and not be looking at another development project.

Eric Houghton and Billy Walker would suit us better and as for that fairy Janes M,heaven forbid.Also would prefer the return of the old open Witton Lane End. Just my opinion,probably won't happen.

That really is bollocks, with all due respect. They don't just hand out PFA Young Player of the year awards out to anyone now do they?

Yep, sorry but Milner was absolutely sensational for us in his final season.  Like Bryan Robson at his best.   Downing is, as somebody else pointed out above, a 7/10 and he attained this score during his last, solid season.

I was at the three World Cup games but at the Holte End.  Does anyone have photos of the World Cup stand because when my mind drifts back to Beckenbauer, Rattin etc gracing our turf I think of the old open standing area.  We had a stand?

The Witton Lane stand (the one that was knocked down for the current one). Certain older folk call it the World Cup stand because it was built at that time.
