Not having a go or anything but when you say "from what ive been told", is that a "source" from within the club or close connections to the club?

Someone in my family is very close friends with a football agent and I occasionally hear whispers. Not saying its concrete but he has 'referred' to a medical today.
The football agent he knows also used to play for the Villa (think I can get away with saying that as its quite vague)

A certain midfielder who you'll awlays see in the away end when we play at the Sty or a certain centre forward that scored a wonder goal for West Brom in 1982 against Norwich?

Sums up why I hate twitter, follow official companies or people who you know they are who they say they are, anyone else who tries to all itk is probably making shit up for a giggle, especially if they act all anonymous as if they're making a huge risk to post stuff.

Sums up why I hate twitter, follow official companies or people who you know they are who they say they are, anyone else who tries to all itk is probably making shit up for a giggle, especially if they act all anonymous as if they're making a huge risk to post stuff.

It's not just Twitter though, it's all forms of media. It's a piece of piss to make up a rumour claiming you know something, wink wink etc etc. Make it sound reasonably believable, i.e don't link us to players way beyond our reach and it will cause panic/chaos/delirium by itself. Twitter just makes it a lot easier and lot quicker, and allows literally anyone to have a platform.

I think Twitter has value, but only if you follow someone with any relevance. For football, I follow Kendrick, Nursey and Moxley. I certainly wouldn't follow anyone claiming to be an ITK/agent etc. You're asking for trouble believing people that you've never heard of as some sort of gospel of truth.

I agree it happens elsewhere but that's down to the fact that most journalists are asked to produce more 'exclusives' than they could possibly get without being a little creative.

Being a sports journo covering football at this time of the season would be a nightmare if you had morals and didn't have a couple of 'friends' to fall back on (Mat Kendrick for example seems like  a reasonably decent person and has earned a bit of credibility for it with Villa fans, but that's only been allowed to happen because the club have given him just enough to meet his deadlines).
