Liverpool are trimming wage bill alot like us.For King Kenny see MON mark 2 he spent heavily on British based players on big wages they now want to clear.Downing ,Adam and Carroll are costing them around £200k a week and not adding much to the team.

I'd take all 3 for a reasonable fee and wages

Downing is a ******, also if were not playing with out and out wingers then bringing him back is a waste of money

We're going to need players with guts, balls and a spine to get us out of our current slump and sack-of-jelly Downing is bereft of all three.

It is obvious that Warnock is not going to feature so a LB must be on the cards

Midfield - i think we have some decent players in our squad but need to get the shape and mix right as well as add maybe 1 or 2. I think KEH is a definate starter and would like to see Herd as the holding MF as he was totally wasted on the wing on Sat

NZogbia has done nothing to warrant a place so Ireland would be the door opener for me as he is a gifted player with vision, I would like to see either a new Striker or Weinmann played just behind Bent as his movement is very good

I have always like NZonzi - big presence and a good touch for a big guy

Downing - gutless wanker

Adam - too slow and is a fatter verion of Bannon - all hollywood balls and fuck all else

Any talk of NRC is futile - if he was not good enough 2 years ago how has he got better?

I think the argument is we have got significantly worse, not that NRC is any better as a player.  We have no Petrov, Makoun or Gardner in there for various reasons and Delph hasn't stepped up as we would have hoped, leaving us with just KEA and Herd as genuine options.  I think we can do better, but I can understand the argument that there is more need for him now than say 2 years ago.

Likewise Downing, don't like the guy but N'Zogbia and Ireland were pretty disappointing last yr in replacing him and A Young, so I'd swap N'Zog for Downing in a hearbeat now.
That's unfair about Delph. I see him still developing. He's still young at hasn't been given the right experience at this level. I don't feel hes been given a proper chance whilst at the club even more so when you consider he suffered a bad injury. Its mainly been that hes come into the team if someone was injured. I hope with Lambert he can wipe the slate clean and give him a fair run in the team. We wont truly be able to get to see what he's made of as a player if he doesn't get to play consistently.

I don't know if its just me but I can see something really good in Delph as a player. If we let him play more and mature he could develop into the full package.

I do rate him and I think he should be starting for us definitely right now.

Downing is scum.    But he can cross a ball, he has pace, he works well with Bent (see England recently), and he can dribble.  Nzogbia cant for the life of him manage any of those things.  The issue with Downing remains confidence.  He started playing well here, crowd got beind him and he blossomed.  It would be tough for him to come back, I could see him struggling, and we dont want the shell he is now, we have far too many players below par.

Adam.... Tackles like me and has my pace.  On the plus side he is good at dead ball play, but we are barely winning any free kicks in the danger zone at the moment.  Unless we start getting them for poorly directed headers (Bent), crap running off the ball (Delfounso) or getting pushed off the ball by a light breeze (Nzogbia) Adam is a luxury we cant afford and dont need

Not a fan of Delph at all to be honest.  Why we paid £8m for a division 3 youngster I'll never know, especially when we had lots of youngsters of our own at the time.

In fairness to Downing he was brilliant for us in his final season where that team was battling relegation.

the great thing about NRC and to a lesser extent Downing, is that all the talk about them coming back is just on here,
we havent to my knowledge been linked with either

if we actually signed any one of the dumplings it would be Lamberts 'Harewood' momen as far as i'm concerned

A Young and Delph were similar gambles. One came off, one didn't. Win some, lose some.

I think MON was hoping that Delph would turn out to be a star and then we could command £15m+ for him when it came to selling him.

Where has the nzonzi talk came from ? Have there been any limbs to him?

Apparently Villa are prepared to pay an arm and a leg to get him

I want another deeper midfielder so our go to formation can be:

KEA - New Guy - Delph/Herd/Bannan

      Ireland/Holman/Nzog

      Weimann/Gabby

                     Bent

Eastie, as far as I know N'Zonzi has a full set of limbs, and along with 110 percent effort from each and every one of our players, it is the least I would expect.
