Some people can't help themselves can they. I was seeing if for the reported €2 he was worth a shot to add a bit of trickery to the attack, and it already says he plays for us, brilliant.
That first paragraph has just made me almost choke with laughter.

His goals per game ratio for Bordeaux isn't too bad.
I was refering more to the line about him being allergic to grass, how the hek does that even work?

Apparently Mario Ballotelli is allergic to grass too.  Obviously, they medicine to prevent it causing an adverse reaction?

if norwich had gone straight back down after coming up, it wouldn't have been the end of the world for them.

after 20 years in the premier league, it could be catastrophic for us.

They didn't go down though, they finished comfortable in mid table with a collection of players most of us had never heard of.

There was football before 1992, unless you beleive Sky.... It's been 25 years.

Press are after Lerner then. He has backed himself into a corner by appointing a manager with such a growing reputation and then thus far not properly backing him.

If the club have any sense, they will give Lambert 20 million this week for 4-5 players that can bolster the very, very thin squad we have.

What a poorly thought out article Mr Wragg. You've shot yourself in the foot by writing it after a defeat by Everton – a club who have operated on a tighter budget than most in recent years but are where they are now through very good management and scouting. Surely this is the model Randy Lerner has now adopted and sees in Paul Lambert a man who can follow what David Moyes has done.
He asks where Villa were when Pienaar and Jelavic were available last year... why not ask where Martin O'Neill was when Pienaar, Jagielka and Baines were available in 2007, or Fellaini in 2008?
The answer to the current problem lies in good management and good scouting, not in throwing millions away in panic and living to regret it for years to come.
Totally agree,as long as any new signings improve the first team,I don't care where they come from,as long as they will be VFM and have good resell able value,so that there is always the money to replace players and improve the team- plus a good youth policy which we have .It will take time but it's the only way to compete with the top clubs ,Spurs as another example with Everton, often criticised by their fans for not spending big,but invested in cheaper younger players,Walker,Naughton,Dawson,Huddlestone,Lennon,Bale.

Maybe we include Warnock on loan as part of the deal?

I've never agreed with some on here about his attributes as a midfielder, but a level down he'd probably be able to boss games for them in place on N'Zonzi.

Which is why I would go for Reo Coker for a 2 year deal. He is not going to command silly wages now, and is very useful to have in the squad. Left back, Olsson would be the better bet simply due to his level of experience too.

Maybe the fact that he hasn't signed for anybody is due to the fact that he thinks he's still worth £50K a week?  Which he isn't.

Makes you wonder whether long term planning is taking priority over short term safety. Stick with the plan of developing a younger team, and even if relegation occurs, it may not be too bad financially for a year with younger and cheaper players, and in the long term the team will be stronger and the finances better balanced.

At least it sounds like we're trying to get things done which is good. Never heard of this Benteke fella but i'd never heard of Papis Cisse either.

When you see how Swansea have been playing it could be the solution to a well run football club unless you have a very, very rich owner like Man City or Chelsea.

Signings like NRC and Olsson over Cresswell, presuming he's who we really want and fits the longterm plan better, stink to me of panic buys.  I know we've lost two games and looked pretty poor against Everton, but panic buying is not the way to fix it.

BBC now reporting we've failed in a bid for the Young Belgian now.
