NRC wouldn't make my list if it had 25 players on it.
So who?

That's between me and the other chairmen. I'm no Dave Whelan or Harry Redknapp doing my transfer business in public. Apart from saying NRC wouldn't make my list if it included 50 players with 3 names.

He'd walk into our team.

We've just appointed a new head of European scouting...hopefully he'll have already identified a few players rich for picking from the continent instead of tried and tested useless shite like NRC.

Needs must as far as I can see with NRC, and I think he would run back to us at the moment. He is still not with a club, and could do a bloody good job for us just sitting in alongside KEA who seems to be able to pass a ball. 12 months with a 12 month extension on games is fairly risk free, and gives us an experience head who is also a leader overnight.

Up front I would still love Randy to magic Carroll out of his arse to go with Bent and give Lambert a completely different option, but it is not going to happen, so Jones in a Hutton swap style.

Dont see why people would only go after average premier league players with over inflated transfer fees and wages when there is a lot more talent available in Europe going around with more affordable transfer fees and wages.

Newcastle have gone down that route and have built a really good team in just 18 months.

Yeah but we're sorely lacking in experienced premier league players right now. A few foreign gems is good, but we need a core in the side who are reliable and have been and done it.
Nige isn't brilliant but largely we always looked better when he played and he puts his all in. He's also a leader. We haven't got a pot to piss in so a free transfer would suit us. I think it's as good a signing as we'll make in CM this window.
If he was still in our squad right now he'd be my first name on the teamsheet in midfield.

Hows Milner doing by the way? Been playing? Cheeky loan bid?

True, but I thought by this:

He'd walk into our team.

You were in favour of getting NRC back in - him being the epitome of the average PL player with over-inflated wages.

If he's without a club now, and training alone, while his agent talks (again) about interest from Germany, Spain and Italy, it's for a reason - he's not very good, and, crucially, significantly less talented than he thnks he is.

I can not see NRC fitting in. We are trying to adopt a passing and moving approach. Ok at the moment we don't look great and I'm sure a lot of it has to be PL is still looking at our players in proper competitive matches, hence a different line up again today. He needs to see who he wants to keep and work with. Hopefully he has targets already in place so this week we might see some action in the market. I don't think NRC is the sort of player PL will go for.

We'll really see how good Lambert actually is as a Manager if he's not allowed any more signings this window.

Even the so called special one would struggle at the moment with the squad at Villa

He wants to be called "the only one" from now on.

I just read this on VT:

Quote
We don't have a single player that I enjoy watching.

Not one single player that excites me in any way.

and really, I totally understand how he feels. There's a flatness about us, a lack of talent, urgency and motivation, that scares me to death.
