N'Zogbia was a left back when he came I am sure, but then went further forward. He is certainly feck all use at the top end, at left back he might be quite effective, certainly as a wing back in a 352.

Mind you, I would be tempted to offer him and 2-3 million to Wigwam for Moses.

at some point you have to think they are going to have the "do you really want to play here?" conversation. He's literally done fuck all in pretty much every pre-season game against mostly average opposition. I honestly have a hard time believing he is the same player we bought a year ago such has been his decline in form. Fuck me, we don't half have some lemons that we need to be rid of.

Yes. Some complete and utter disasters. Ireland and NZogbia the main ones, but including the MON bombs, and Makoun, there are too many. We have a 1 in 5 hit rate on transfers if lucky!

Our transfers in hindsight have set us back 5 years. Lambert is absolutely the right person for this job. For the shit he needs to move and position he needs to rebuild from he needs our complete support. No point harping on about the past. There is nothing that can be done about that. I just hope the board collectively has learned from that and the decisions moving forward are much better thought out.

They'd better, because if they don't, then even a progressive manager like Lambert is going to struggle to do anything.

Jesus Christ is that a serious suggestion?

N'Zogbia is like a bus-stop in Macron shorts. The idea gets a thumbs-up from me.

Confidence and good form are not something that can be switched on overnight just because the culprit, TSM, has been moved out. Everything about last season should be erased from memory.

Lambert may be a good manager but he's not a miracle worker. He will give every player a fair chance & he's already shown that he will deal with anyone who does not or will not meet the standards required.

N'Zogbia, Ireland & others will all be given a chance & they will be aware that they will be cleared out if they don't deliver.

If Lambert is giving them time, how about we do the same.

Moses is just N'zogbia from a couple of years ago.

Someone mentioned earlier that Fellaini and Cahill got away with loads of fouls because that was the way Everton played. I feel Villa have lacked that kind of 'lucky' physical player for a while. I think it was O'Neill said we were too nice, which was the acceptable side of O'Dreary's 'honest bunch o' lads' schtick. But that's been talked about for six years now...surely all the managers who've overhauled our squads must have noticed by now?

Alan Hutton?

I said 'lucky', not 'useless'

NRC can keep on driving to the continent to sign for one of Europe's giants. I am happy for us to pass on Nige.

How about getting JLloyd Samuel back to fill the LB slot, Djemba Djemba maybe. Creativity in midfield you say, Moustapha Salifou can come back.

Why do people obsess about our old players? It's like footballing hoarders, ooh don't throw away Aaron Hughes, i'm going to need him back at some point. Can we just put him in the garage for now.

it drives me nuts too. They're gone. For whatever reason, some made sense, others less so. NRC had his chance to stay and fucked it up by believing his own hype. He'd want that conversation with the club over again I'm sure. I liked NRC but we need stop talking about him like he's Yaya Toure. He ain't even on the same planet.

It would be a no thanks to NRC from me. Herd can do pretty much the same job and is a) a lot cheaper b) is young enough that he can improve, NRC will never be a better player than he is now.
