When i read posters saying Delfonso shoulod be given a run of games i start to worry, good players will shine in a bad side, when your brought on as a sub thats the time to show you deserve a regular spot. For me he's had ample opportunities.

He's had the odd chance here and there largely in struggling sides and often played out of position. I don't see how anyone can claim to have seen enough of him to have formed such a definitive view.

Agree with this, in flashes we have seen enough to suggest he is good enough given the right support.

Interesting that Lambert is not denying interest in Jones and Defoe. If they both came you could see Gabby going to Sunderland.

I agree Chris, I would say opposite - good players get dragged down to the level of the team and tactics used. Look at Bent, lack of chances due to supply and tactics. I think bad players get found out in a good team.

Lambert will always be coy about potential signings and his comments will be open to intepretation either way.

Really wouldn't want Jones or Defoe.  The Defoe/Bent partnership didn't work at spurs, he'd be on big wages and is getting on.  Kenwyne Jones would make having gotten rid of Heskey pointless, we'd be lumbering ourselves with a new one for another 4 years.

Jones would be better than Defoe if we're looking for a partner for Bent.

Although I'd like to see Gabby actually have a good season or Weimann tried along side Bent first.

PL is a DAB hand in the transfer mkt so lets just leave it to him. There is a RAY of light about the place at the moment as a result. I dont want either Jones or Defoe the latter can be a little GOBbY for my liking. As i say lets let PL do his job and not just PERCH him on a pedestal too early.

I'm in panic mode. Hard to enthuse too much about the season ahead without some new players being brought in. Fingers crossed Lambert has deals waiting to go through but it seems like these deals are dependent on Hutton, Warnock and Makoun leaving.

Would Spurs let their only striker leave? Jones is uninspiring and I would have thought N'Zogbia and Gabby would be more suited to partner Bent given the way PL wants us to play.

Not sure what all the panic is re-transfers. Many of the issues have been resolved, i am a bit disappointed we haven't signed a left back for tomorrow, but otherwise we have done enough at this stage. A few weeks left and lots of links, Poulsen, Defoe, Jones, Johnson. Would be happy with any of them on permanent deals, they would all strengthen us. Just hope we don't over pay wages wise but surely they have learned their lesson. And definately hope they don't loan players, especially from Prem league clubs.
