Milner was £10m rising to £12m. Downing was £12m outright, IIRC.

Edit: a quick Google (well, Wikipedia) states it was actually the opposite of that. If that's accurate surely technically Milner is top?

I seem to remember the official site press release for the downing signing didn't contain gthe fee but simply said 'for a club record fee'.  Might be wrong though.

I think PL clubs shouldnt be allowed to loan between each other. It's now just used for self gain to a much higher level plus an easy out for clubs 'buying' a player but not completeing the deal till the summer etc r all for tax purposes.
It was much better in my opinion when you could ony loan out to lower league. Not only was it good for the leagues below but you would never have had a club like chelsea spunking shit loads of cash on say Lukaku, knowing they can loan him and Give him the PL development. Players like that would never drop down a division to develop.

How would some of these clubs faired had they not loaned several players from the likes of Man U, Chelsea Arsenal etc
How would Sunderland have done without Walbeck, for instance? And there're probably many more too.

Going back onto Kenwyne Jones, i know it's only rumour but i think he's dreadful. He's different to what we already have but that's about it. We can do a lot better.
