Apart from experience i see Saha being no better than Fonz or Weinmann - and at least they have youthful energy on their side

I bet games to goals ration of either of them are comparable to Saha

Saha - no thanks - pension player!

Would rather we gave 1 of our young lads ago, although I have doubts that either Weimann or Fonz will make it at the premier league level!

Actually skip that i just checked

careers to date:

Saha

309 games = 111 goals

Fonz (inc loan)

45 games  = 4 goals

Weinmann (inc loan)

33 games = 5 goals

Still would like ours than the oldie

I'd sooner we kept our powder dry a bit longer if the likes of Fletcher are going for stupid money. He's a solid player but not worth that kind of coin. Pie in the sky, but Dzeko would be a much better overall investment than Fletcher or Carroll but he'll want CL football I imagine. The market always goes crazy as the start of the season approaches and then calms down a bit heading into the close of the window before getting stupid again on deadline day. Lambert has time to ditch Hutton and Warnock, find us a new LB, CB, possibly a winger and certainly a striker. No need to do anything drastic just yet.

If we're looking for a full back, Jose Boswinga's still a free agent.

Reminds me of a left footed Kyle Walker, lightening going forward, not sure about his defending though.

'

he must have been some crazy money at Chelsea wouldn't you think? Those players are looking for a last big payout and CL football if they can get it

Farina is only 30. Surely a bit young to stop playing, or has he been forced to call it a day?
It was that or the horse's head in his bed!

We were linked with Boswinga heavily for a year or two before he joined Chelsea. After seeing him play the last few years for Chelsea, I'm glad we didn't get him. I don't rate him that much at all. He couldn't hold down his place against an out of position centre back.
He's okay going forward, quick, good engine but shite defensively. And yes, he'd be looking for 80 grand a week, there or abouts.

With our wage structure it would seem we're looking at players who'll come in and be happy with 20-30, or youngsters on less.

If we're gonna make someone one of our highest earners, it has to be a standout signing like Bent.

I like Holman. I think he seems very much to be in the Kuyt mould. Not spectacular, but adapatable, hard working and will run all night long. Will chip in with a good share of goals and assists too.
