I've was at an under 21 game Danny Rose played and he was horrendous. He is not a good player at all.

Didn't CNZ play mostly at left-back for Newcastle? He certainly played there quite a few times

Sturridge and Adam johnson would be ace for us if Randy is thinking of letting slip the purse strings of war.

We're after a Croatian striker with the initials BB apparently. I believe he shares his surname with American actor Bob Balaban.

Chatter still ongoing in some of the papers about us trying to get Danny Rose in on a season long loan. If it happens it will all well and good. But it's a very empty feeling if he does well and we have to hand him back after blooding him in and we are back to square one a la Kyle Walker.
On another topic, are we still interested in Aaron Cresswell, it seems to have gone mighty quiet on that front.
I do hope we don't go for Rose. Don't like loan deals anyway. We don't want to make another player for Spurs just as we did with Walker. Let's grow our own with the kids we have or may be Cresswell.

Berbatov wouldn't work hard enough to be a member of a 4-man midfield IMO. I don't think we can afford any passengers off the ball at the mo, but Ireland or Holman in that role would do well I'm sure.
From what I saw last season 'passenger off the ball' applies perfectly well to Ireland and passenger on the ball to N'Zogbia. Had hoped they might both be moving to the exit along with the more usual scapegoats.

The problem is that Ireland and Zog show flashes of talent that makes everyone thing that one day they'll come good.

As for the "more usual suspects"; Warnock is a decent footballer who is just having a bad decade. Hutton, however, would struggle to show flashes of talent even if de-trousered and provided with a mac.

I love this idea that we 'made' Kyke Walker, that without a loan period with the Villa he'd never have become the player he is today.  Is this the same way that Burnley have 'made' Delfouneso? Or that Leeds 'made' Barry Bannan?

If we haven't enough money to rebuild our squad, and we are talking about a major rebuilding operation, then loans are a good, not perfect, way of plugging some gaps whilst we go about that reubuilding.

Man ££££y to sell Johnson and get in Sinclair.  seems a strange one , Johnson is much better.

There's a few fans on Spurs forums that say Rose is shit. I always thoguht he was a winger? but Redknapp played him at left back to cover Assou-Ekotto?

I don't see the point really. We've got plenty of youngsters as good, if not better. I thought he was CM when he first broke in. That said, from what I saw in the GB team he looked like a right footer playing left wing. I dunno if it's the case, or whether he just kept running down blind alleys but he looked like a poor mans SWP to me. He's quite fast but not as quick as SWP.

I'll admit I've only really seen Rose play a couple of times, but did watch him play in the GB games.  I too thought he struggled playing as a winger, but thought he did a lot better when he went to LB in the warm up match against Brazil and got forward well from that position.  I would much prefer Neil Taylor or Bertrand over Rose, but we definitely need a new player in that position.

Toronto, as I stressed in my post it's my opinion. I don't think there's enough hard evidence from a few warm up games to make claims that we're a top 8 side. We've signed pretty much unknown quantities so far who will need to make the adjustment to the unique demands of PL football and that usually takes time.

Of course they might surprise us and click straight away but logic suggests that it will take longer for them to settle in. Similarly existing players are going to have to adjust to the new manager and how he wants us to play as well as getting used to the new signings. I'd say a solid mid table finish is the most likely outcome.

Chris, in what was a disaster of a season after MON bolted we still finished 9th. Irrespective of how ended up there, we still did. If this has proved anything for the mid table positions you don't have to have everything going for you to finish in the lower European spots. With solid management, and a squad with more belief and desire we should be challenging Everton or Fulham. I'd be disappointed if we weren't. McLeish made a mockery of us last season. I truly don't think we are as bad as made us look.
