Watched a fair bit of Snodgrass and I like the look of him, 13 league goals last season plus 14 assists, can play either wing or as a second forward, I think he would be a good addition, any thoughts?

He's championship standard?

best player in the championship , my leicester mate said.

My mate is a Leeds fan he reckons he is coming to us, I don't know how true that is though.

I'm not sure about him he seems a decent player but he lacks pace.
So did Sir Peter Withe.

Yep but the Premiership is all about pace, if he doesn't have that he'll struggle especially as a winger.

If we did sign him I hope he's better than the last one we got from Leeds. He was supposedly the best player in the Championship at the time.

Apparently, Delph is itching for a move away from Villa. I don't think he will be able to hack it in the Prem, but Leeds seem to fancy him. Maybe we can work out a sign and trade for Snodgrass?

Leeds were playing in league 1 when we signed Delph, and there is talent there, just needs an injury free run to see if he can make use of the talent.

Daily Mail are reporting Gunter from Forest is off to Reading and we are getting Simpson from Newcastle. Make of that what you will.

When we were linked last season I watched him more closely and thought he was a decent player to be honest. Not Walker class, but decent. Makes you wonder if Lichaj is going to play left back and Lowton and Stevens cover them. Thought Lichaj did well at left back, and sometimes playing on the other side, especially with these managers playing wingers on the wrong side, can actually work.

Simpson is meant to be fairly cheap too due to contract issues.

The mirror are reporting that Makoun is being sold, and in France Rennes are said to be keen to offer Doumbia in exchange. Can't see that being an issue if Lambert is interested in Doumbia as was reported.

Snodgrass has a bit of the quality Barry had when he played on the left from what I have seen, despite a lack of pace he seems to find the time to get the delivery right. Would be good for Bent I reckon.

My mates a Leeds season ticket holder and has never rated him. From what I've seen don't think he's better than what we have. But in Lambert we trust.

I know next to nothing about Simpson apart from he did very well for my fantasy team last season.

Would be worth a gamble on both Snodgrass and Simpson.

Guardian now reporting that "Paul Lambert has also confirmed his desire to secure Carroll".  Don't know where he confirmed that, or what he wants to secure him with...

Doesn't seem like his style to talk about transfers like that. Everything else he's done has been very quiet and low profile. Still, if Liverpool's asking prices are being accurately reported, I find it very hard to imagine we'd go for that.

I find it pretty staggering that if the media reports are accurate, they're willing to stomach a circa 20m loss on Carroll after just 12 months.

Looks like more money in the pot or a part exchange/trade

"Jean Makoun's Aston Villa career is in jeopardy - because he has not learned to speak English."
