I think we'll find that out by who he buys and sells.  Getting another RB in as he has doesn't bode well for Hutton!

Wonder how many clubs have enquired about Hutton so far.

The main area for concern in that squad list is clearly the defence. The positive is that we know PL is looking to bring in players and get rid of the liabilities.

On paper midfield is looking ok but a few injuries and we are looking very lightweight/inexperienced. I'd like to see an experienced proven dominant midfielder brought in to keep things together.

I'd also sell/loan the Fonz if we can bring in another forward.

Left back position aside, I wouldn't be too concerned if we were to start the season with that defence.  It sounds like Clark is going to be given a chance at CB, so that's Dunne or Collins out of the side to start with.  If (big if) Lambert can get the best out of Dunne, then I wouldn't be too worried about a Collins or Dunne / Clark partnership providing we have an experienced replacement (Collins / Dunne or a new player if one of them is sold) also in the squad.

I would say central midfield has been a real weakness over the past couple of seasons and is the key area for me.   I think we still need another addition in that area, even with the options we currently have.

You can add Lichaj to the defenders and Delph to the midfielders.
And Carruthers and Johnson to the MF (well, they've both been in the matchday squads and have had some game-time).

Seeing as we already had cover for Hutton at right back, spending three million on one doesn't look good for him. If a left back comes in you have to fancy Warnock to go and the same with one of Dunne or Collins if a centre half comes in. I'm guessing as an oppostion PL manager he knew our weaknesses last season and his DVD viewing will have confirmed them. He will also know that the 'trying to get more out of certain experienced players than the previous season' plan didn't exactly go swimmingly for TSM.

Judging by this I think Dunne will be staying

Just talking up the selling price.

We can hope.

You want to sell Dunne for the price of his daily lunch?

Daily lunch? That's more like his mid-morning snack.

Couple more defenders plus an attacking midfield-type and a striker still needed I reckon.

Dunne will stay and go on a free, I reckon. He'll want his bosman move and no one is going to pay £3-5m for him and then give him 60k a week either.

We'll have similar difficulties with Collins and Warnock too. Although they should be easier to shift as I imagine their wages are more affordable and clubs will give them 3 year deals.

I think a couple of the teams at the Power League are a player short?
