So as of today the squad is: (Based on players who have had at least 1 full game)

GK's

Given
Guzan
Marshall
Unless I missed something, Guzan hasn't signed yet.

Plus I'm fairly sure Marshall's never played 1 full game for us.

I suppose also if we're being really picky neither have Holman, El Ahmadi and Lowton...

But that would be taking pedantry further than it really needs to go.

Speaking of Marshall, why is he still employed by the club? After Guzan and Given I think I'd rather let Siegrist have the game time.

I assume to offer experience and support to the youth and reserves who come through. I can't imagine it's costing us a great deal to have him around and enough managers have decided to keep him on to suggest it's worth it.

Where is that then? Shame if true, fancied 2 big hard central midfield players, but Makoun, Herd and Gardner do give us a bit of depth alongside Karim.

On the Rennes website it would appear. Would take some shift for us to nick him now then.

I suppose, but I can't see why Given isn't fulfilling those roles? He's got just as much experience, if not more - having played regularly in the top flight and for his country.

He's not playing alongside them in the reserve team like Marshall though.

Think Marshall will be able to devote a lot more time than first team keeper can.

Interesting to see Steven Caulker being linked with a move from Spurs.  He's the big CB who was on loan at Swansea last season and looked decent.  Wouldn't mind us being in for him if he is available.
