Didn't the much maligned Matt Kendrick break the Holman, Karim and Lowton transfers?

He seems to think the Brahimi stuff is pure rumour.

I'm surprised that Delph hasn't been mentioned as possibly part of the Snodgrass deal - unless PL thinks he's worth a go?

It'll be interesting to see who wears the matchday armband in the absence of Stan.  I hope we are still to sign our next captain.  Can't see any of the current players doing the job.

Perhaps Given?

I don't think it really matters. Apart from shaking hands with the referee and occasionally calling a coin toss which chap happens to be wearing an armband while a match is happening is fairly inconsequential.

Petrov is the captain and given Lambert's propensity to rotate anyway I'd expect four or five of them to have a go over the course of the season.

Try to hold back the tears but tomorrow's Mirror reports Hutton & Warnock to go:

But who the hell would have them, Hutton especially

Personally, I think it's more important than that. Matter of opinion though.

In the majority of cases you may well be right. When Gabby was captain last season, for example, he didn't exactly galvanise the rest of the team. But occasionally you do get a really inspirational captain (I'd put Gareth Southgate in this category) and that does make a difference

But there's nothing that says that he wouldn't have been just as inspirational had say Ehiogu, Taylor or Yorke been captain.

I think he would have been because it's his personality that makes that happen rather than the fact that he is wearing an elastic armband.

To be fair to him, he wasn't awful when played in holding midfield towards the end of the season.

I would sooner keep Mutton than Warnock. Can't stand him at all. Wimp, and shit.

That's why I'd like to keep him!
