Except Kalou would want big wages and hasn't particularly shown anything to suggest he's worth paying it.

Maybe you should read my previous post which clearly disproves this statement and do you think if Dempsey is sold for £10 that he would only want £20k a week wages, he will want at least £50k.

Dempsey £10m + 3 year contract at £50k a week = £17,800,000
Kalouon a Free + 3 year contract at £50k a week = £7,800,000

My comments about Dempsey were meant as a quick off-the-cuff comment that I would prefer Dempsey over Kalou. Its not like I've given it any serious consideration and was genuinely pushing for Dempsey to be signed. In fact, as soon as someone said that he was 29, I said that was a showstopper - that's how much I had thought about it. I don't have a scouting network working for me - I like to just make comments about the types of players that I like but in reality, I would expect the club to find a younger, less proven version that would have the right attitude and not cost a fortune in wages.

Anybody know anything about  Yacine Brahimi? The local press in Rennes are saying we are looking to bring him over, probably on loan. He looks a talented winger, even if he appears to be a short arse (no offence, Mazrim).

seems to score goals

Next unknown to me at least.... Toby Alderweireld? Ajax centre back, young, meant to be talented? They did say a couple more from Holland to come....

Who said a couple more from Holland? I saw an article about Alderweireld but it said we were going for Ivan Ramis instead. I think (it was in Dutch).

Yeah I seem to recall a few posts on here prior to Lambert's appointment saying that he only bought from the British market.

The MON-lite was mainly based on them both wearing glasses, as far as I can tell!

Whilst I think it is too much of a simplification to see him as MON lite, I can see why people resort to it, there are enough commonalities in their careers thus far.

Alderweireld looks the perfect signing (ignoring his stupid footballer haircut and tats) to replace Collins and he can even switch to right back if needed. I think he's only about 23 but I'd imagine he wouldn't be cheap. How much I have no idea.

Ramis would be cheaper, he nearly moved to Sporting last summer but the asking price of £5m put them off.

MON Mk2 sounds like something Greg would say.
Where's Greg lately anyway? Is it too chipper for his tastes around these parts now?

Holt staying at Norwich? That's a fortnight wasted 'getting used to it' as john e told me to.

While we were getting Lambert, I took a look at a Norwich forum - wrath of the barclay, I think it was called - and they were giving Holt all sorts of shit. That's going to be interesting now.

They also - Norwich fans - surprised me for being a particularly bitter set of nobodies. Typical of a few recently promoted clubs recently. All of a sudden they're a gigantic club on the basis of one season.

I thought he was had already signed for Villa, lead us to playing long ball and proved to be worse value for money than the Hare, according to one poster?
