Were linked with Yoan Gouffran a forward/winger o9f Bordeaux.. one time Gunners target.

Apparently he,s allergic  to grass !!......................Godzvilla!

BORDEAUX winger Yoan Gouffran faces more than one battle on the pitch after being diagnosed with a GRASS allergy!

The forward's bizarre condition was revealed in French daily newspaper Le Parisien and could have serious implications for his season.

That's because Bordeaux will play 36 of their 38 Ligue 1 games on grass this term — with only rival sides Nancy and Lorient favouring artificial surfaces.

Gouffran, 24, has been ordered by club doctors to visit a specialist in an attempt to alleviate the problem.

Club boss Jean Tigana said: “For a footballer, it's embarrassing. He would have been better to play on synthetic pitches in Nancy or Lorient.”

Gouffran was linked with a move to Arsenal in 2008 while playing for Caen but joined Bordeaux instead and has scored seven goals in 64 games for them.

Been away for a week, have tried to keep up as much as I can - probably missed a load of rumours.

But has Charlie Adam been mentioned? Sigurdsson seems to be off to Liverpool and they've loads of midfield players. He'd not be top of my priority list but he could fill a Petrov sized gap.

Just back from Weymouth and a self imposed media blackout. Can I get a recap please? Just a quick skim read tells tales of Ibrahimovic, Gourcuff and so on. Any solid links or just fantasy talk?
The Ibrahimovic thing isnt a rumour or speculation of any kind...I just brought his name up and suggested that he would be brilliant in the PL for any team pushing for European places. He would scare the living shit out of most defenders, push them out the way (like he did with Ashley Cole), make them fall on their arse (like he did with John Terry) and has both skill and a powerful shot in abundance. Only a few clubs could afford him with his wage demands anyway...so file under "N" for never going to happen.

Been told we are lining up deals for two Chelsea players. One being Lukaku on loan, no name for the other one yet.

Would love one to be Sturridge, but that is highly unlikely. What about the LB Bertrand on loan?
My Chelsea fan friends think Sturridge is a greedy, self-centred arse who does not pass the ball and thinks he's really, really good. For the wages he'd demand, no thanks.
Not a fan of loans of other Premiership players personally.
And 'no' to Kalou or Mikel whilst we're at it.

Wonder what Bolton fans think of Sturridge after he scored 8 goals in 12 appearances for them on loan?  On the subject of loan signings from other Premiership clubs, Kyle Walker was a success wasn't he?

Re Ibrahimovic, no thanks, no way he would cut it in the prem, too hurly burly,  Such a precious flower for one so big and an ego the size of Russia!

He's way too selfish too. I reckon a player like that could poison a dressing room. If anything, we need more togetherness at villa.

I'm sorry, is the Ibra debate serious or tongue in cheek?

Lambert wants 'hungry players not motivated by money'. That automatically rules out the egos of Ibra and Sturridge, and one would imagine, quite a few others! For the record, I'm with Lambert on that, but are there actually any footballers in the game who aren't motivated by money any more?

That probably rules out most, if not all of the more exotic players on our collective wish lists and 90% of all players currently playing for Premiership teams. Brett Holman would seem to fit the profile after all ;)

I was thinking about Jose Bosingwa on my wishlist. Having read Lambert's philosophy I'll go back to dreaming of Shakira.

Chelsea fans like John Terry. Their opinions shouldn't be taken too seriously.

I personsally think that Chelsea have tried to make Sturridge a wide player, which isn't his strength.  When he played as a striker while on loan at Bolton, he scored a fair few goals and looked a class act.  Anyway, he is probably out of our reach financially wise and the thought of signing players of that calibre is just wishful thinking.

He is a Villa fan and would want to be playing week in, week out now. I don't think it is that outrageous.

I think the fact that Ibra is world class and could walk into almost any team in the world is what rules him out.
