Just saw that Rangers are talking to Rino Gatusso. He'd be perfect on a seasons contract. Or even player coach. He'd add experience and much needed steel. Also brilliant experience for the youngsters to play with someone of his pedigree.

It really is hard to speculate on any players until we see who Lambert has asked Lerner to bring in and he gets a look at the squad first hand. Now Houghton is at Norwich.  Culverhouse and Karsa will be making there way to VP and until Lambert assembles his trusted back staff and Lerner has responded to his "go get" request think we will are in for a quiet period. Cant we find some creature like "Paul the Octopus" it would be fun.  As most of us have about the same chance of predicting what is going to happen !!!

Sell Bent for £26m bring in Rhodes (7m), Jay Rodriguez (6.5m) and Milner (12.5m) simples.

Don't think so mate. Rhodes and Jay Rod aren't proven at top level. And very much doubt we'd get Jimmy back.

Yeah no thanks, how about we keep Bent who is a proven Premier League goal scorer and build the rest of the team around giving him chances.

Just keep Mr. Bent, but get players in who can give him chances to get the ball into the net, simple as that.  Like a K. Jones type of player ( they did well together at S'land, didn't they?)  + Some wingers who get a decent cross in the box as well please.

Get rid of Warnock, Dunne or Collins. Get a DL/DR/DC in and give Makoun II a proper chance.

Keep Bent please, he scores goals.  Build the team to suit him.  I'm sick of selling our best players and you'd have thought we'd learned our lesson over the last two years.

If we build a team to suit Bent, we'd be pretty much guaranteed top 8!

Not necessarily, I have my doubts about Bent, but I think he should bang them in under Lambert, so fingers crossed.

I think Weimann is the future, I think he will be as prolific as Bent but with a lot more ability.

If Weimann ends up being as prolific as Bent he'll be a hell of a player. Bent appears to be massively underrated by a lot of people.

I am not yet seeing it from Wiemann.  He doesn't make clever runs yet.  Still young though and I hope I'm wrong about him. I'd like to see him go out on loan to a decent Championship side to continue his education.

He's a long way past his best, and has strong playing and family ties to Rangers and Glasgow. Makes a lot of sense for him and them if true.

Rumours on twitter that the bin dippers have bid £20m or Bent. Hope we tell them to fuck right off

I love Gabby, but another £20m off them for a player on the slide would be too good to refuse.
I wouldn't describe Bent as a player on the slide.

Man, I've got problems.

Why on earth I read that as a £20m bid for Gabby I'll never know.

To clear things up, I would not sell Bent, but would carry Gabby up there on my back for £20m.

I agree,I don't see where Gabby fits in our team when Bents playing, He hasn't got the intelligence to play off a striker and cant cross accurately enough to play as a wide man.
I don't know if he was carrying an injury last season or it was just knob head McLeish but he didn't put himself about very much either.

20 million for Bent is a hell of a lot for 28 year old forward (29 in feb). I would be very, very tempted by it. But I would then sell Gabby too, and look to buy 2 young, and 1 experienced forward. Maybe Holt, Rhodes and Zaha or something like that, who with Weimann could give us 4 forwards that could knit together, and still leave all the main budget for the rest of the squad.

I hate to say it Ozz and it's against a lot of what I believe, but I'd be tempted as well. He's a top forward but he limits the manner in how we can play. Same as Gabby. I want us to get faster and more versatile. Ideally off course we can keep him and build everything around him to ensure he gets his 25 a season. I think Liverpool are far closer in that regard. But for stupid money that would be reinvested properly at 28 , coming off a serious injury, then I'd be tempted too.

The general consensus is we want a player capable of crossing the ball in play and dead ball situations.  Perhaps try and swap Gabby for Larsson at Sunderland?  If the rumours that MoN wants him are true.  I don't subscribe to the view that Gabby is worth 10-15 million at all, especially based on last seasons form.
