Young cost more cause of the 'English Premium'.

I don't know, it just seems around 5 mill too much for me.
Young cost what he was worth. Nasri had a year left and was more expensive. Kagawa is comfortably worth what ManYoo are paying for him.
Young was worth every penny in my view. Class player who was always going to a top four club.Bloody good investment for Villa.

Özil cost 15 million euros, and Sahin, a more important player for Dortmund last season, cost less than that even - I still think they're getting fleeced.

Kagawa looked a good player to me.

Hopefully some Villa related talk on here soon.

i cant believe i read last night that chelsea are about to sign the hulk and hazard and are looking at neymar and lucas well thats 40 million ish for hulk, dont know about hazard and neymar and lucas are reportedly valued at 50 million each. so much for financial fair play ay lads. and this is just chelsea imagine what man c££y will do.

on a villa related note tho we should be doing all we can to ship given out his wages are very ott for a keeper and i dont think hes in the top 5 in the league and in my veiw only the best 5 in the league should be earning anything more than 35k. ruddy would be my choice and lambert will be well aware of any clauses in his contract should he have any we wont even need norwichs permission.

secondly guthrie should be nailed on to come to villa. young and decent player cheap and is equally as good as any centre mid we already have excluding makoun possibly , get him in. i would also try everything i could to sign pogba from man u on a free hes already leaving on a free just convince him his future is at avfc.

thirdly do not spend a penny on strikers!! we already have the fonz, gabby, bent, weimann + holman who can play in the hole, we do need one more i think but free transfers all the way, i'd even offer carew a year on half his wage just say for old times sake im sure he would consider it, as a bench warmer in case bent gets a big injury again. if not carew there are options all over the world,

saving the best till last the defence, build it around lichaj and clarke! in my opinion ship collins dunne and warnock out and replace them with. one very seasoned premiership center back (hangerland maybe) one young cb to take a punt on marriappa from watford possibly and as for left back i wouldn't look within the prem i would be looking to south america for a raiding left back  i think we would be as strong as any of the also rans in the league this coming season.

I'd take Holt tbh. He's rumoured to be on less than 10k a week at Norwich, he's a decent player and we could do with a forward who we can rotate in and offer something different. He rotated at Norwich and it'd give us three established forwards with Wiemann as an option.

That is assuming he doesn't want a ridiculous wage (which you couldn't blame him for considering what Carroll and Zamora are earning).

You think we could probably get him for £3m and he'd be on about half Heskey's wage.

No ta to Holt for me. He's one of those players that MOTD makes look good so you notice him, but if he's in your squad and you see him every week you see a limited, one-dimensional player.

If Given were to leave, I'd take a look at Paul Robinson. A much too good a goalkeeper to play in the Championship. I think he'd be on much less than Given. The last Goalie we took from Blackburn didn't do too badly.

I don't like Robinson, everything seems to go straight past him and end up in the net.

Given shouldn't leave, and I very much doubt he will leave, but if he does I'd be happy with Robinson as a replacement.
