I think Rodallega could cause damage as one of the two wide forwards, I wouldn't want him through the middle though as he is not clinical enough, but then neither is Gabby really.

Plus Malnoey & Moses were in good form.

Sean Maloney, another one MO'N under used and abused.
I'd certainly like him back at VP

We should try for Sturridge and Adam Johnson.

We should, but couldn't see us getting either.

You're probably right. Spurs and Liverpool would probably be interested.

Wonder if Milner might be available for loan this Summer? I suppose he's the sort of player any manager wants in their squad and it seems he's still in England contention despite barely featuring in the run-in, so I guess he probably wouldn't be.

How about Woodgate at Stoke?

Obvious concerns about his longterm fitness, but that's why he's on a short-term deal at Stoke and may be attainable. Would prefer 25/30 games per season out of him (as he managed last year) rather than an ever present campaign from either Colllins or Dunne. And both of those have fitness issues too, in fairness.

Clearly that would depend on moving at least one of the Calamity Twins on.  And ideally I'd like to see us in the market for a pacy CB too. But Woodgate could do a similar job for us that Ronny Johnsen did a few seasons back.

High wages and Injury prone.  If we were paying decent wages I'd rather of kept Carlos.

Not in favour of Woodgate myself, but I doubt his wages are that high since going to Stoke.

Also Man Utd are about to spunk the best part of 15 million on Kagawa - who cost Dortmund less than a million euros (off the top of my head it was 300,000).

Ridiculously this has grown to £17.5 million, for a player who has one year left on his contract. And even more ludicrously the Guardian describes this as follows "Shinji Kagawa typifies Manchester United's new age of austerity".

Wtf? Am I the only one who thinks that is typifies the exact opposite? Or because they haven't spent 40 million on anyone is this austerity now..

I don'y know a massive amount about him but from what I've seen of Dortmund this season he's a fantastic player.  I know it is expensive for a player with one year left, but I'm sure he'll have plenty of offers, so it's just what you have to pay.

They paid £16m for Ash when he had just a year left.

He is a quality player, but he didn't exactly light up the Champions League this season. I watched a fair bit of Dortmund and he did score a lot of crucial goals (but when I saw them live he was disappointing).

And apparently he was only interested in joining Man Utd, so I don't think a bidding war happened at all - Dortmund named their price early, and it seems they couldn't negotiate any reduction. Young cost more cause of the 'English Premium'.

I don't know, it just seems around 5 mill too much for me.

I like Holt. To score 16 goals in the Prem when he did'nt even start every game is not bad to be fair.

Young cost what he was worth. Nasri had a year left and was more expensive. Kagawa is comfortably worth what ManYoo are paying for him.
