The Paul Scholes deal is off. He will not be coming to Villa.
and was that deal ever on?
It was very hush hush.
I bet it was.

So hush hush that neither club, nor the player knew anything about it, and had not even thought about it. Scholes is being offered another year at United, and already has coaching responsibilities there too. About as likely as Eck getting more than 55 points in a premier league season.

Clark is a centre half, and hopefully he get's a run there, as I'd rather see Gardner and Herd in the middle of the park.
That's how I see it. In fact, I could see him as the sweeper in a back three of Lichaj and Baker when all three have got some more games under their belt.

I hope you mean for the reserves.

Note my comment in bold.
All three are showing the potential to become excellent defenders; perhaps you don't see that, but I do.

From talksport
Meanwhile the Gunners have joined the long list of clubs interested in the services of SC Heerenveen striker Bas Dost, 22, who rejected a move to Aston Villa because he will only move to a "big club".

I'd put money on it that somewhere in Talksport there is a Nose who keeps pumping this garbage out. Not a lot going on I know I'll broadcast a no substance link and get a dig in about Villa not being a big club, snigger, oh well times up better report back to the parole officer. Wankers

Clark needs to play alongside a big CB, so he can cover behind and also bring the ball out.  Think he'd be excellent with someone like Samba.

For me Baker is a better prospect than Clark.....more pace. But we need to have a look at Clark as a CH, that is his position, and that is where he should be tried at.

Clark is a much better player than Baker.

He is, but is he a better defender?
