Huddlestone is a decent shout.

I'd like O'Hara. I wouldn't have a year ago but we've regressed and he's better than anything we've got there now (discounting Stan and Makoun). He's got a streak of arrogance and personality that we lack in the middle. Left footer too and can cover left back.

Two of O'Hara, Guthrie, Gosling or Huddlestone would be decent enough. Prefer us to look abroad though!

Dann has been terrible for Blackburn, they will certainly want rid. We definitely need another experienced defender, if Cuellar's off I wouldn't want to go into next season with just Clark and Baker as cover for Dunne and Collins.

Kello, Clyne, Dann, O'Hara, Guthrie, Holman and Moses. With Guzan, Cuellar, Makoun and Heskey sodding off.

Left back would be ideal too.

Huddlestone is a decent shout.

I like Huddlestone but he is one of them players who always seem to get injured when they hit form.

I'd get rid of Dann, O'Hara, Guthrie from that. If that's all we do we'll be in trouble.

I wondered about going for Frimpong on loan next season.

That would be fine by me. He is a beast of a player. If they would be tempted into selling him even better.

Frimpong is more like it. Exactly the sort of all action player we need. Every time there was a Tannoy annoucement he would be looking around though.

Very good, took me a second to get what you were on about.

Frimpong would be an excellent addition to the squad for next season

Obviously our dealings will be dictated by our budget.  If there is not much to spend then there are some decent players in the Championship who could be targets.  I've always thought Mark Noble is a decent midfielder and I'm sure he would be looking to move on if West Ham are not promoted this year.  Another midfielder that has impressed me in the Championship is Andy King from Leicester.  He's more of an attacking midfielder though and has spent most of the season out with injury, so it will be interesting to see how he recovers.  He attracted a lot of attention from Premiership teams last year, so could be worth a gamble.

A defender I have really been impressed with is Ben Turner from Cardiff.  I thought he was superb in the Carling Cup Final and is a Birmingham boy to boot.  As for strikers there is Emnes from Middlesborough who is a good player.  He's more of a drop off striker, so could compliment Bent well.

O'Hara, Gosling, Huddlestone and Frimpong? Jesus, they're awful ideas. The first two are terrible, Huddlestone's made of glass and bringing Frimpong on loan is just putting Arsenals youth player ahead of our own Delph/Herd/Clark/Gardner.

Read the last few pages I think the Flamini on loan for a season is the best shout.
He’ll provide the experience to allow our youngsters to develop and maybe could be tempted to sign long term if we showed sufficient progress.

Huddlestone is cracking. Sort out his fitness and he'd lynchpin our midfield.

Noble/King/Turner as mentioned above from the league below all have talent. Wouldn't touch Emnes, though.

They really do look like they were all taken from from Martin O'Neill's Big Book Of Transfer Targets

Assuming we get rid of Emule, Dunne, Warnock, Guzan and Jenas, I'd say we need one new CB, one experienced CMF (in addition to Holman), a back-up keeper who would eventually take over form Given and a new left back.

And then all we'll need is a manager who can make the most of what we've got.

We need a lot of bodies in the summer and a real clearout of the current squad.

We need more than that. Look at how we have been wrecked by injury this season and last.
