I remember when Huddlesone was mentioned about three years ago, this place nearly went into meltdown.  How times change.

I think if Tom Finney was mentioned we'd all be excited at the moment, let alone Tom Huddlestone.

Surely we could pay the £10m for Sigurdsson? Especially if Gabby or Bent leave.

Not me, I've always rated him.
Questionable injury record though but I'd still be looking at him in the summer. He'd be a very good player for us.
He's much better than that gobshite Carrick for instance.

He's younger than Carrick, but not as mobile, or as good for me.

I like Hiddlestone though.

Carrick isnt mobile, he just passes the ball to the nearest player, moves a few feet, rinse, repeat. Without top players around him he'd be useless.
Huddlestone is more powerful, a better passer and definitely a better player in my opinion.

The Carrick who has been superb this season and could pick up his forth title in 5 years. If Huddlesone was half as consistent he would not be available, which I don't think he is anyway.

On Carrick, the same things could have been said about Makalele but it didn't stop him being essential to the Real Madrid and Chelsea sides he was part of.

Huddlestone can be like a Quarter Back with some of the passes he can hit. His injury problems make him a 'no' for me though. Previous years have been bad enough but I don't think he's been available at any stage this season. I would rather we got Frimpong and/or Leon Britton.

I do not agree that he is or ever has been "superb" and his medal haul is a reflection of his team.
But there you go. Fuck him anyway, he's nothing to do with us.

Huddlestone might not be available but you never know. Spurs have a few players in that position now and may be fed up of his fitness issues. It's not out of the question.

I wondered about going for Frimpong on loan next season.

Well he has been superb when I have watched him this season Maz, he has played in a run of something like 11 wins in 12 before the last couple of games, excelled in the centre of defence when needed and can pass the ball better than any of our midfield put together. I would love him in our team.

Huddlestone is out through injury though isn't he, otherwise he would be playing more? Or am I wrong thinking that? He is a better player than Sandro, who I have not quite understood the hype yet. Ditto Modric, who they were insane not to bite for 35 million last summer.

That would be fine by me. He is a beast of a player. If they would be tempted into selling him even better.

I've often thought Carrick does exactly the kind of job that you see midfielders in leading Spanish, Italian and French teams doing, which then leads on to debate about how England need to have more midfielders like them, and why we can't find any. Meanwhile, Carrick quietly and efficiently goes about his business.

Frimpong is more like it. Exactly the sort of all action player we need. Every time there was a Tannoy annoucement he would be looking around though.

And I agree with you on Modric too. Another player like Carrick who is simply "tidy" without actually doing anything of note and yet is worth tens of millions apparently. I would have driven him to Chelsea or Man Utd for anything over £12m.
