I actually think Bannan could play that role behind the striker very well. I know Ireland is in there at the moment, but with his new found lease of life, I would be sorely tempted to stick Ireland right in the heart of the centre of the park alongside Herd

Great..... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2132120/Bas-Dost-declines-Aston-Villa.html
Randy's really done fantastic job of turning us into a small club

It's quite something, isn't it?  I haven't seen as quick a turn around in a club's fortunes and standing since Doug returned in the early eighties.  I hope Randy shows up for our final three "Cup Finals" so he can see the results of his leadership in the flesh.

I put Bannan in there as one of our players that other clubs will want, same with Bent and Gabby, the rest we will look  to other clubs hoping we can cash in on them.

I can't quite see how Bent would be worth half what we paid for him.  His scoring record is still top class and he is has plenty of time left on his contract.  For me it's a case of start the bidding at £25million...

Like I say, Bannan strikes me as a classic Swansea signing, like Sigurdsson maybe. I hope it's us who get to develop him into the footballer he should be, but if Eck stays I sadly doubt it.

I don't know about £25 million, but I'd expect around what we paid out for him. And we'll get a bit more than that from Liverpool, probably...

Nice if its the case, can't see it, he's that much older and that much out of form playing for a club that's in terminal decline, most teams will see that as bargain basement time, may even be the case that there are no takers.

We would sell Collins for £2m and sell an out of contract Cuellar for £4m. Also, we will sell all our strikers for half their true value. We will somehow get £4m for Bannan and someone will pay £3m for a league one player in Delph.

Yeah all right chap.

We haven't paid £24m for Bent in any case.  It was £18m plus add ons.  I don't know what the add ons were, but if it was based on us qualifying for Europe or anything like that, I doubt we've reached them.

If we sell him for less than we got him for it would be appalling business.  Mind you, if the reek of "bargain basement" continues to stink up the place you could well be right.  It would be a huge shame, though, because he hasn't become a lesser player and he's still a year younger than RVP at Arsenal.

If we sell him to L'pool for £12million they will have more than got us back for robbing them for Downing.

Bannan has, for me, suffered from poor first team coaching and tactics. His skills would be shown in a team who practice more pass-and-move football and play with greater fluidity. It's no accident that his best season, when he played a good run of games and achieved an international call-up, came under the progressive coaching of GH. If I were Bannan, and McLeish stayed this summer, I would definitely ask for a move. Swansea would make something of him, you feel.

Bannan is made for either Spanish or Dutch football where he could be a revelation. Delph you feel has got fast skills but gives the ball away far too often. Delfouneso is just Darren Byfield in another skin.

£10M for Gabby?  Where to?  I'll go and start the car.
