I have heard, in fact only this morning, talking to someone that still scouts for the club, that McLeish is on a tightrope, and in noway is he being guaranteed next season.

That makes very little sense when you consider that he's already been allowed to recruit one player for next season.  If you aren't sure you'll be keeping your manager, then you wait until you know before giving him money to spend.

Hope you're right villanation.

I know there is little evidence to support this "Mcleish is on a tightrope" story. But i am praying it is true. I want the feelgood factor back amongst fans and the media and it will never happen while Mcleish is Villa manager ...........

Thing is John, players join clubs all the time with the knowledge if thing go shitways then the manager gets canned. Holman has joined Villa to play in the PL, not McLeish. He's relatively oblivious to most things Villa right now, so he won't really care who the manager is the day he arrives. He'll be playing in the PL for a big club. He'll have got what he wanted.

This is a club that paid big money and wages to Stephen Ireland when we didn't have a manager, don't forget..

I was thinking of it more from the club's point of view than the player's.

I'm sending up my kestrel to swoop round him, thus causing him to fall.
That's if my Brother hasn't killed it, the bloody bastard.

I still think McNugget will still be with us come the summer but also believe he will have until xmas before the board think about giving him the boot if we our league position is pants.

Im still hoping and praying on all fours that what Villanation said is true though

If the powers that be firmly believe that McLeish won't be able to take us forward next season then I doubt the signing of one bosman transfer will halt their decision to sack him.

I'll bet his feverishly trying to get others tied up, in the belief that it will strengthen his hand.

As would I. but, he needs to get them right, as if he hastily signs the wrong players it'll only put more nails in his coffin.

I think so too. They will hardly be thinking 'Fuck, we can't sack him now. He's gone and signed Brett Holman. Well we have to keep him now that he has signed one of his own players'.

Can't see that happening. A bigger consideration will be how perilously close to the relegation zone and the loss of many many ££££££££s.

I'm hoping that this season has taught Randy one big footballing lesson.

You would hope so but I’m not holding my breath.
