With Holman and Kello coming in to replace Heskey and Guzan you're looking at atleast a couple of million per year off the wage budget. Considering how little those two have contributed it can't have weakened us.

More importantly, it means whatever funds we do have aren't used up by 'squad maintenance' and can instead be used to actually improve us.

Too true.

Apparently Roeder has been watching Jordan Rhodes too, would be interesting to see us make a move for him. We need a young forward coming through with some quality.

I know very little about Rhodes, other than he's scored a load for Huddersfield.  However, he may well turn out to be the sort of player we often regret not taking a chance on, so I'm happy for us to take a punt.

I think it essential we take a punt! We need a goalscorer as I'm sure Bent wiil be off once he is fit!

I reckon we'll go for Pogrebnyak and Dost. Which sounds like some 80s new wave band.

Would like to see us sign Rhodes. A guy who delivers to my work is a huge Huddersfield fan and raves about him.

We hardly ever take a chane on lower league players these days but I think he would be worth the gamble.

IF, and thats a MASSIVE IF, we got relegated, would Rhodes come to us?  Might make a great championship striker.  Anyway, time to get positive again......WE WONT GO DOWN!

Wonder if Marshall will finally leave also?

Matt Kendrick reported a while back (at the time of the Guzan new contract story) that Marshall was to be offered another year.

I dont find that woman attractive and those pics may as well be CGI.

However, if I were Robbie Keane, with a face that looks like Malcolm Marshall used it for bowling practice, I'd probably be happy.

I imagine conversation around their breakfast table must be award-winning.

Aruna dindane linked on skysports this morning. Averaged roughly a  goal every two games for Pompey a few years back? Can't say I remember him to be honest?

Have heard the Villa owner will "significantly invest again" in #avfc this summer. We need it.Positive news though. #utv

In an odd way it doesn't surprise me. How much will be interesting. We have to get rid of the old and expensive wasters and bring in playes that are far hungrier, younger and aren't comfortable with accepting their lot in life.
