If it is true that this guy was on 2k a week at Hearts then I would imagine he would be on about 6-8 once he moves here, so probably save about 10k a week on Guzans wages, which if they are 20k a week is complete madness, and makes you wonder what some of the other players are on.

If we save half of Guzan's wages that's circa 500k a season off the wage bill. Seems a decent move and glad to get it done early.

First Brett Holman, now Marian Kello.

If that doesn't get the ticket office phones ringing off the hook, nothing will.

Any Villans north of the border have any inside knowledge on him, is he a good understudy or will he be next in line to replace Shay?

He's pretty decent. One of the better keepers up here. I wouldn't say he is much poorer than someone like McGregor.

From transition to retrenchment to austerity.

It's puzzled me for a while how our wage bill could be so high with so few significant earners in the squad. If true, 20k for a backup goalkeeper of no great pedigree is Ridsdale class spending.

Particularly as Guzan would have been earning around £30,000 per annum in the MLS.

Wonder if Marshall will finally leave also?

I expect so. Siegrist being number 3, as is right.

Sounds like a good move.

These signings won't get anyone excited, but they're the sort of steady business we didn't do enough of under MON.

With Holman and Kello coming in to replace Heskey and Guzan you're looking at atleast a couple of million per year off the wage budget. Considering how little those two have contributed it can't have weakened us.

More importantly, it means whatever funds we do have aren't used up by 'squad maintenance' and can instead be used to actually improve us.

Too true.

Apparently Roeder has been watching Jordan Rhodes too, would be interesting to see us make a move for him. We need a young forward coming through with some quality.

I dont find that woman attractive and those pics may as well be CGI.

However, if I were Robbie Keane, with a face that looks like Malcolm Marshall used it for bowling practice, I'd probably be happy.
