He's top scorer in the Eredivisie. I know that the Eredivisie is hardly the best league in the world, but he's still scored loads at a relatively unfashionable club.

And he's only 22 or something. These are the kind of links I'm looking for: A bit of imagination.

Well, from the look of him on youtube I'd let him take penalties

Yeah all well and good but Doesnt seem to contribute much to the team
Except score all their goals.

Sounds like their version of our Darren!

Possibly, although this one is 7 years younger and 6 foot 5.
I think he has some ability on the ball too.

Giroud is an absolute goal machine, his next move will be of £15m+ so that rules us out, Bas Dost is good on Fifa.

Is Giroud not just another flash in the pan?

There's been French strikers before who everyone has been raving about....Gignac (who's looked hopeless everytime I've seen him play for France), Guilleme Horau who hasn't amounted to much and Loic Remy who dosen't look that great to me at Marseille.

You can pick up some great midfielders from the French league but I think I'd steer clear of strikers.
Gignac is the one I keep comparing him too aswell.

I haven't a clue who we should sign this summer or how much McLeish will even have to spend. Biggest summer for a while? we say it every year, but surely this year is massive?...

I do wonder about Brendan Rogers how much credit he should get for what Swansea are doing.  It seems to me that he has just continued on the philosophy that Martinez built up the ground work for.  I can see him leaving there and attempting to apply that style of football on a team like us and failing miserably.  Still be a better option than McLeish though.

Rodgers should get most of the credit. He's a much better manager than Martinez and his teams play a far better style of football than any Martinez side has to my knowledge.
I'd love us to go after him.

The biggest issues may well be:
1. Can the club ship out the players it really needs to get rid of.
2. Would fans face positively the dilemma of perhaps selling important assets to fund new signings.

Yup. It's been some time since Martinez was at Swansea. Plus, I'm beginning to wonder if Martinez is actually any good, or is going to be as good as many assumed. Limited resources, of course, but still... Wigan have almost solidly been in the bottom three for the whole of his time there!

Beware the goal-poacher from an inferior league, almost especially one like Holland. Kezman anybody?

Indeed Monty, was just about to post similar though Afonso Alves was my example.
