No doubts we'll be back in for Jenas at the end of the season as I think his contract is up?  Clubs are allowed to talk to targets from other countries in January so hopefully we have a couple from foreign climes already signed and sealed.

There are some good players available for sure. Might even be worth having a cheap punt on Lewis Dunk whose contract runs out Summer '13 but can imagine him ending up at Spurs or Liverpool.

In for Artur Boruc according to The Sun on Sunday this morning, as Shay's No2.

Ansellsimildi has always looked good. Now he's back on the market. Something is brewing.

I'd also be wary of anything Neil Moxley wrote. Blues nose.

Moxley is one of the fairest national journos on the Villa. He seems to be the only one who puts our side of the argument re: MON.

A young central midfield player who can get his foot in is important too though for me.

I think we alread have that in Chris Herd.

Herd and Petrov would be first choice in CM for me, with Ireland ahead of them. Herd has a good future here.

I think we should also look at players from the Championship if we're not going to be looking at big stars. As surely, Bosman signings command bigger wages? isn't that the general rule?

Petrov isn't a true DCM, hence needing someone like Herd alongside him.  Were we to get a true DCM, I'd like to think that would free us up a bit to play Gardner in a 4-5-1 or maybe even Ireland in a 4-4-2.

Yes, I think so too.
