I tuned into a bit of the "phone in with no callers" the other day and was glad to hear Peter Withe on there, one of only a few that deserve the term legend.

He must be back from the far east.

I think he ran out of parts of the far east to work in. He has been on an extensive tour of there for years.

Fans ringing up begging Peter Withe  to replace Lambert, quite surreal.

At this stage I think I would give Peter Withe a go even if he wasn't THE Peter Withe. It is a shame it is too late in the season for a reality TV show to be next manager. Maybe we can just pinch the winner of Big Brother.

Howard Hodgson first on tonight.  'Ive written and spoken to Tom he's set out his vision'..bla bla.  I know he means well but it just sounds toe curlingly bad.

Withe is virtually begging for the job live on air.  Worse still supporters are asking for him.  Withe ffs.  Poor old SGT has also been mentioned as has MON!!

The thing is, ex Thailand mangers wouldn't do a worse job.

12 points from 21 with 2 wins and 8 goals is so bad, it defies belief.

Heard one guy saying we should get O'Neill back or sound out Sir Graham!!!

I don't think Graham is in the best of health these days, but he wouldn't consider anything like that anyway, as for MON, it would make him and Lerner look like hypocrites.

According to Daz Hale, Sandwell fans were singing "Irvine For Villa" last night which is predictably pathetic.

Through gritted teeth I would imagine such would be their dissapointment at Lamberts departure.

If it was straight after the game, that was my brother.

I'm sure we'd have been just the same, I mean don't you remember all those "Irvine Must Stay" songs at our home matches against completely unrelated clubs earlier in the season? Me neither.

I listened to the phone in tonight. I was amazed by a couple of callers asking for the return of pubehead on a short term deal. For once Franksy was almost pro-Villa in his reaction.

People have such short memories.

Has Franksy apologised for his complaints that Randy was off on holiday when he Should Be Doing Something, 24 hours before he did?

No he conveniently forgets modern technology like telephones when he wants to.

Absent without leave I believe was the quote.

Like he has nothing else in his life - and that goes for all club owners.
