I got collared to do one of those 'man outside the ground' interviews by radio WM a couple of weeks ago outside the Worcester rugby ground.  I told the microphone man I wouldn't have much to say about a team I don't support and a sport I don't follow too closely, but he still wandered over a minute or two later and started asking questions about Worcester Warriors' transfers, fixtures and manager.

Its no wonder nobody listens to them when they give someone like me 5 minutes to talk utter shite about something they know nothing about (although I suppose it shows how Franksy got a gig there).

I've written a ranty piece on WM for the next fanzine. Took me ages, mostly trimming it down as there was so much to rant about.

Marvellous, i'll look forward to that.

That Albion bloke Eddie they had on last night was an absolute loon. He kept saying stuff like 'yow cor understand brummies'. In fact that's all he had the intelligence to say really.

Two minor Franksisms:

Last Saturday before the Stripey game "Albion a pointt behind Villa...but they're playing much better." And is it true that they broke off from commentary on our game last night to report that West Barcelona had entered the arena?

I said last night, I imagine WM will have reported that we are 9 points from being relegated and Real Baggis are 12 points off a CL spot.

I hadn't realised until I saw the Express and Star today that the Stripeyfilth have only won 1 in 8. What time is the "Albion In Crisis" phone-in on tonight?

On Saturday night after the Sunderland game Franksy was trying to make out we should be anxiously looking over our shoulder at Fulham....

what's happening slowly but surely is that the world is being restored to its proper order. The noses had a bit of time in the sun with their league cup win and TSM becoming our manager. Now they are back to being utterly shit and penniless as they once were. The Stripey's the same thing. It was fun and games last season. We were coming out of 3 years of hell, they wanted the world to know they ran the midlands like it was some sort of fucking achievement. It's going to kill them that they can't even win the only prize they ever won by finishing above us from now on.

It's like Chris Rock's joke about the difference between rich white men and rich black men.  His joke goes something along the lines of when white men are rich they are rich forever, their children are rich, their children's children are rich etc, but when a black man is rich it's just countdown to when he's broke again.  Same principle with Albion and Blues - when they're doing well we all know it's only a matter of time before they are back in the Championship playing in front of sub 15,000 crowds again.

he talks about the difference between being rich and being wealthy. Thing is the noses were never rich, they were just very temporarily not poor and not a complete laughing stock.

When this thread started I never subsribed to the view that the station, and in particular, Franks, were biased against us.

So I have listened rather more often and have found some of the coverage laughable, culminating in Franks confirming to a caller that he was rather unhappy with Lambert because his accent has become more pronounced during his time at the Villa.

Pathetic.

How can getting 4 points away to Chelsea and Man. united (was nearly 6) and be one of the few teams to get something off Arsenal this season be underachieving.

They're a bang average midtable team that shock horror win a few, draw a few and lose some more.

Paul Franks is a woeful excuse of a presenter nowadays.

Because they're below us, and deserve to be higher.
