I only listen to the phone-ins in the car on the way home from matches now having used to religiously tune in for Tony Butler's Friday night show on BRMB when the idea was new and exciting in the mid 70s through to the mid 80s. The novelty value has long wore off for me. Some of the people who ring up are an embarrassment to the clubs they allegedly support. I will give a special mention though to an Albion fan called Lee who rings in regularly after matches. He has a rant style all of his own. Hilarious.

Ashok was a chap who rang up with an indian accent but he was a white chap apparantley. Both he and Acker are dead I think.

The days of Acker and ashok were when the phone ins were at their peak - nowadays is not a patch on - butler and to a degree George Gavin were both good at the job and entertaining too .

I remember Acker saying he would refuse to pay his Council tax if the Birmingham City Council helped the blose build a new stadium.Tom Ross took it in good humour when he found out he lived in Spain, and didn't pay council tax !
