You're right. Even when we win they have to moan about the crowd, or certain players, or transfers. After the Wolves game you wouldn't have known it was a derby - they only wanted to talk about Wolves.

I listened to the phone in earlier and Paul Franks said this was the most boring Villa team in the most boring Villa season ever. To claim that every game has been boring is just utter shite. We've been involved in some cracking games this season and he knows it.
They seem to be down on everything Villa whilst proclaiming Small Heath as the new Brazil. Every time they mention them they talk of the fantastic football being played down there. Funny that because every time they've been on the box it's been a bore-fest.

When were these cracking games actually played? Are you getting us confused with another team? To quote Franksy it has been shite. I'm taking an objective look on this but cannot agree with you. This has ben a fairly low key almost boring season so far I for one haven't honestly been entertaind so far this season have you? Tell you what If you have any more of those special glasses than turn rubbish into entertainment can I have a pair please.

Before xmas I think with some justification, neutrals (and plenty of us on here including me) were calling us the most boring team in the league.

However since Xmas we have certainly played a more watchable form of football. Chelsea away is another example and even though we lost, Arsenal at home was a very good game.

Football fans in general think that any given media are against their club. Look at the comments on this site... Meaning Evil, Big Gay Lawro, Pat Murphy, WM. Are they really all against us? I think not. It's a siege mentality... ua against the world. It's easy to pick up the negative comments and ignore the good.

Well said top man Jimmy Smash good to hear another fan and there are many who feel WM are decent.

Okay... thanks er Warleywonder... I mean dazzyg...whatever your name s.

That 'Camp Lawro' stuff was knocked on the head ages ago.

Looks like someone from WM has signed up to the site.

Not all all but why would you think that the station is biased? Have you been banned from phoning the station or something!

Because they constantly put Villa down. Didn't you bother reading the rest of the thread before you posted or something!

Yes I did read the post otherwise I would not have commented. Radio WM DO NOT just put down the Villa whoever is having a bad time on and off the pitch will have comments made. Lets face we are not exactly having a great season or are you another one of these people who think that everyone else on here is wrong. Is there some kind of forum mafia on here?  Oh no we cannot say anything that goes against what a moderator thinks. Do moderators sign some kind of allegiance against the rest of the fans. It;s as though you cant have an opinion on here and if you do you either get slated or kicked off.

Welcome back dazzy, I've genuinely missed you.

No, we're not having a great season, you're quite right. However, recent weeks have been mildly entertaining which is at least some improvement.

Incidentally I'm not a moderator, so what that rant had to do with my post I don't know.

Do I think everyone on here is wrong? Well, no, clearly not. Even if I do think someone's wrong, that's great as that's what makes an interesting discussion board. Do I think you're wrong in this instance? Yes. Putting something in capital letters does not make you right by the way.

Do you have any opinions on Alex McLeish?

I think warley wonder works with dazzyg and shares the same computer, hence the ip address. He is clearly more intelligent than dazzyg and has put some great points on here.

I agree with SH.

I actually don't mind WM that much, I prefer listening to their commentaries more than BRMB where by the sounds of Tom Ross every time a team goes over the halfway line it's going to be a goal.

I think the problem WM is is doing the phone in every single night, it just used to be on Fridays didn't it? So they need a steady stream of callers every night. So it's easier to be negative for the sake of it as it pretty much guarantees callers.

I agree. Effectively they have a Football phone-in 7 days a week; generally at least one of their teams are playing on a Sunday so you end up with a Sunday phone-in too. This seems to dillute the content. A Monday post-weekend phone-in is generally listenable. A Friday night pre-weekend phone-in is OK. They have Colin Gibson on sometimes too. Tuesday to Thursday phone-ins without a midweek game to discuss are painful and smack of schedule fillers.

Only just seen this thread but so very glad that it's been started.

I've posted several comments in the past about Radio WM, who I loathe with a vengeance. Not sure whether it's a conscious anti Villa mission they're on or that they're just naturally moaning, negative, whingers (Franks seems to moan about life in general and is the Daily Mail on the radio when discussing other things too).  Whichever it is though, I believe that they have an impact on the mindset of our support and that the general pessimistic and negative attitude that is so prevalent among large sections of the crowd (not just this season but even when MON was here) is influenced by them.

One example I'd offer is Mr Franks' undisguised and self righteous joy some seasons ago when we were losing 1 - 0 at HT to Newcastle and ended up winning 4 - 1. Our tall friend didn't celebrate the turn round, instead concentrating on the fact that Petrov had been replaced at half time and citing it as evidence to support his campaign against that player.

I have to say that Bluenose Ross on BRMB is infinitely preferable and I only listen to WM now when there is no alternative.

Tom Ross is much more even-handed than the muppets on WM. In fact, the more I here those dreadnoughts, the higher my regard for Tom.

That Lee (the Albion fan)  is a character alright, but we'll never hear callers of the calibre of Ashok (Beebo), and Acka again. May they both rest in peace.

Many of the radio phone in presenters allow the caller to start making their point then hog the whole 'conversation'.
I often find myself shouting 'let the fucker speak!'

Ip addresses are such a wonderful thing aren't they ! Where would we be without them lets throw a bit of DHCP in as well and no I wasn't shouting there.

Ahhhhhh Mcleish where do we start on this subject ? Our fantastic club is now being dragged through the mill yet another defeat and now the players are answering him back. I wonder what type of reaction there will be on this site now? There is only one answer to solve the problem but I am not allowed to say what it is am I ?

Still like to know why my location had been changed without my consent ? Is this allowed? Hasan anyone else had their location changed?  Dave what are your exact feeling towards Mcleish as you never ever relly pass an opinion apart from disagreeing with what I and anyone else thinks.

Apart from this site I do not know anyone that really agrees with the manager at the moment in the early days lots of fans were angry but now there are many more. Do you not see the fans anger? I would really like to know how you feel not what you want people to think that you feel. The forum is for open discussion am I right?
