Aston Villa capitulations
« on: January 29, 2012, 06:15:08 PM »
Go on then let's have them...

Today.

An exact replica at Highbury in 2001 when we were 2-0 up at half time and lost 3-2.

Manure last season, battered them in the second half, were 2-0 up with ten minutes left and drew.

White Hart Lane 2007. 4-1 up after 70 minutes....

Old Trafford April 2009, 2-1 up after 80 minutes, lost 3-2.

Manure in the cup in 2002, 2-0 up with 15 minutes left, somehow lost 3-2.

Any more, any I've missed out (that Leicester home game in the mid 90s?)

Why oh why are we always so bad at defending leads, it's been a major achilles heel under so many different managers and playing staff.

Beyond a joke now, Arsenal aren't even in good form!

The Spurs one still rankles with me the most.  4-1 when I left work, it got to 4-3 so I turned the car radio off as I thought I'd jinxed it.  Got up to the M42 roundabout at Tamworth and turned it back on as I knew it would have just finished.  Heard the Spurs fans singing in the background...

Cue the most foul-mouthed volley of abuse I've ever shouted at anything in my entire life.  The people in the car next to me at the lights must have thought I was having a breakdown.

That stupid, stupid, stupid pissing team will be the death of me one day.  I pity all the poor bastards having to make their way home tonight.

Worcestershire Senior Cup final, second leg. Rovers away to the scum of kiddy. They were near the top of the conference we were Beazer Homes Midland. First leg at the Vic finished 0-0. We battered them at the dump and were 2-0 up with 9 mins to go. I forget what happened next.

Wasn't that the Leicester game?

Remember this one clearly, it was on my 17th birthday. Won't ever forgive them for it!

Far too many you'd have thought I'd have grown accustomed to the pain now.

That one cost me £890 on an accumulator. I'd picked 7 Spanish teams on the Sunday and stupidly added Villa for the Monday night.

Weren't we 3-1 up against Wimbledon and proceeded to lose 4-3. Ron Atkinson's last game I believe.

I'm sure it happens to other teams too. We've comeback quite a few times too.

2 down to Southampton to win 3-2. Coventry too (sending them down) Arsenal also (Dublin). Spurs away when we won 5-2.

Mancs at home last season. Mancs away a few seasons ago when that tosser came off the bench. In fact the mancs most seasons.
