The 3-0 defeat against Liverpool at Old Trafford in the 1996 FA Cup semi final was typical of many capitulations against them. Once the first had gone in, it was obvious what was about to happen. We have had so many occasions when we have built ourselves up, only to be let down. I would like to say that our day will come but whether I will still be around to see it is another matter.

Man ure in the FA Cup at Villa Park. Two nil up with about ten mins to go. End up losing 2 - 3. Horrible mancs dancing on the pitch. I know of someone who will remain nameless who had an online bet with ten mins left of £3000 for Villa to win. Ouch! He was nearly suicidal afterwards!

Tottenham at home - 1978/79 i think - Ardiles / Villa etc...2 - 0 up with about 25 mins to go lost 3-2 (thats if my memory is correct)

Top around Christmas in a Gregory season. Ended up scraping sixth place in the end. second half of the season capitulation.

Also capitulated after 'that photo' when we beat Southampton 4-1. Lost the next game to Liverpool at home 4-2 and the season pretty much capitulated after that.

 The first one that sprang to my mind was Leicester in 1995. 4-1 to 4-4. It ended a good couple of months that had taken us from the relegation zone to the top half and started a couple of months that sent us back the other way and nearly sent us down. Obviously the Stern John game wasn't great either.

Sid, that was my earliest memory of a capitulation. IIRC They actually scored 3 times in the last 12 minutes  (in the days of 1 minute injury time ) and we had hitherto been completely dominant. A real sickener as until then under Saunders we had always been a team that finished matches strongly.

Big Ron's final game at Selhurst - horrendous and so predictable whilst watching.
4-1 up at home against Leicester a few days after avenging the above defeat against Wimbledon with not long left. My mate and I moved around to the bottom left corner of the Holte in order to make a swift exit at the final whistle. Didn't move or about 15 minutes after it. Galling, that one.
