Its Alexs 53rd birthday tomorrow. Im going the game. Anybody up for singing 'Happy birthday Big Eck' with me? He seems a decent geezer maybe he deserves abit of respect? I think its time to get behind him and the players. Our problems will still be there when Alex has long gone.

It would be a nice gesture but i cant see it happening.

I reckon 1-0 to us. Wolves are crap. Lose to that lot and we have a mega problem.

Predicted earlier in the thread that Wolves would win this, having watched the Wolves B'ham cup game the other night, not sure how I came to that conclusion, must have been pissed, so having watched 2 distinctly average Championships sides play out there cup tie, I would revise it to being a Villa win, it has to be, how could any Villa team lose to such a mediocre side even as bad as we are at times.

Has to be Villa.

1 - 1. They go ahead early, we get an equaliser in the second half. Fletcher for them. Gabby for us.

Wolves raise their game for the big occasion, they did it last season when they somehow beat Man. City, us,  Manure, Chelsea and Liverpool and yet were 3 minutes away from getting relegated!

Recently they've got very good draws at Spurs and Arsenal but I do think they're vulnerable at Molinuex as the pitch is quite wide and their defence struggles against pace.

Think I'd bring N'zogbia back for this as he's had good games against Wolves playing for Wigan in the past few seasons.

Can't see how that game has any bearing on predictions given they made 10 changes to their regular team.

Some suggestions petrov and Ireland will play together in a 442 with keane upfront. Think this would be a risk and a mistake to start with. Would want Clark in midfield in this game, though warnock is turning into a liability again.

I find it odd we've let delph go on loan. Stan is looking tired and with herd injured we lack solid central options. Certainly suggests Gardner is chomping at the bit. Perhaps Daniel Johnson too? Always been impressed with him.

Given - cuellar, Collins, dunne, warnock - petrov, Clark - Gabby, Ireland, CNZ - bent

Guzan, Hutton, Gardner, albrighton, bannan, keane, weimann

Both Managers will be very happy with a draw, not looking forward to this boring 0-0 or 1-1 scrappy draw.

Hope Im wrong

So in that case basically what you are saying is any of the Wolves players that played the other night v Blues won't be playing today with 10 changes having been made and this was a side that they put out just for that cup game

This should be interesting.

I was out in Wolverhampton last night and took a detour past Moulinex on my way home. I asked the taxi driver to stop on Waterloo Road and had a piss against the Billy Wright Stand. If that doesn't make us win nothing will!
