I think he could go MLS and play centre back.
I seriously don't think he'll continue at premier league level. So he could always end up back at Blues...

As a player he isn't good enough, which I think we all know, but I think a 'countdown' is unfair.  Such treatment should be reserved for players who have taken the piss, not tried and sat around waiting for their wages - pretty much Stephen ireland up until a couple of weeks ago.  Heskey has done what has been asked of him as best he could, so while I don't want him to be given an extension I do wish him well for the future.

You are right there to be fair.  At least he is trying for the team and not being a Habib Beye.  Like I said in my post, he probably is a nice bloke but isn't good enough to take us forward.  I feel sorry for him especially with the amount of abuse he gets.

I was thrilled when we signed Fashanu.

But that's because I was more interested in Gladiators at that age than I was interested in football.
At that time I would have rather had Ulrika on the pitch than Fash!

I agree entirely..............but:

When you think come June we'll have paid him close to £11m, you do have to ask whether Randy has a point or not.

What - paid to him in wages, not transfer fees? Holy shit

Maybe Pete Colly is going to be there as the club are unveiling the new bronze statue of Emile outside the Trinity Road Stand to celebrate his record breaking goalscoring record.

Excellent idea.  Aesthetically speaking, a horizontal statue would form a nice counterpoint to the vertical McGregor one.

Seriously though, although not a huge fan of Emile I think he gets unfair stick and not enough recognition when he does make a contribution.  Classic scapegoat if you ask me (and yes I do know what scapegoat means).

But I still can't wait until he is gone. Maybe we can con someone into buying him in his last 6 months by linking him to a return to 'pool.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see MON come in for him.

I wonder if Davey B will still be smiling if that happens.

I suspect Davey will stop smiling as soon as MON's transfer window opens on the 31st.

I understand the groans, but what is Heskey to do when told he's in the team or told to get on the pitch as a sub? Or when he's played in midfield? Say he doesn't think he's up to it?

"The Heskey Countdown" sounds like an episode title for The Big Bang Theory

Even the Shrewsbury Town fans are mocking him on their Blue-and-Amber fan site:-

http://blueandamber.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=77122

I tend not to say this too often, but someone should point out that he could buy their entire club with a month's wages.

To be fair to STFC, the Club had net tangible assets of £13.02m at their last year-end (30/06/11), with only £5k of debt on the balance sheet and £1.68m of cash in the bank, so probably one of the best capitalised clubs in the Football League. However, I get your drift and was a little surprised when looking at the fan site that they didn't have more important issues to discuss, such as finally getting promotion from League Two.

I think he's just a couple of seasons on even for MON.
