There have been some exciting games between us two in the last few seasons so I would hope for a high scoring game (with us the winners hopefully).

There are sad similarities between Villa and Everton. Both have a core of a team that have been virtually ever present for a number of seasons. In that time both have had their best players cherry picked, whilst being unable to replace those sold effectively (the Bent signing being an anomaly on Villa's part). And now both are having to rely on short term loan deals to cover shortcomings in their respective squads.

Huge, enormous game, I can see goals, excitement, incident, this will have everything.  8)

The weird thing is that with our home form the way it is, I would prefer to be playing them away.

Guzan
Hutton Cuellar Dunne Warnock
N'Zogbia Petrov Clark Ireland
Bent Gabby

Subs Marshall, Alby, Bannan, Gardner, Collins, Delph, Keane

That was the front 4 i expected from the start of the season.  I had thought the central midfield would be Makoun and Delph though.

2-1 Villa, Bent and Ireland.  Heitinga for the Toffees.

If Bent doesn't start we will win.

-------------Guzan
Hutton-Cuellar-Dunne-Warnock

---------Petrov-Clark

Albrighton-Ireland-N'Zogbia

-------------Gabby

We have been better defensively with Guzan in goal and have played better without Bent, so easy choice for me.

Mcleish don't seem confident Cuellar will be fit for Everton. And no way will he drop Bent ....

Coming off a late Wednesday fixture with Spurs I can't see this lot being ready to compete come Saturday. I think we'll make this game interesting but certainly come out with the win, 3-2 to the mighty.

I don't see a goalfest on Saturday. Just for Randy O'Neill, I think this will be a dull draw that both teams are happy to take.

Amazing how you'll take Ireland who, over the vast majority of games for Villa, has generally been a lazy fucker who's contribution amounts to very little, over Bent.

A couple of ok games and you have him over Bent, who has contributed more through scoring goals.

Just in case you weren't sure, scoring goals is the idea of football. You have to score more than the other team if you want to win. It's not about a player having 3 or 4 good games in 2 seasons.

I'd like to see how many minutes they've both played for us.

If you want to diss Ireland or discuss laziness, please use the Stewart Downing thread.
