After seeing Warnock play shit yet again today, can't see Stevens do any worse.

He could sit on the crossbar the whole match and still make a greater contribution than Warnock.

I thought Enda did well yesterday.
I did worry beforehand that he was going to be ripped to bits but he coped admirably with what was thrown at him.

I don't think he's ever going to make a Premier League regular but I can see him moving to a Championship club for a million or so, which will be a handsome profit.

Yeah agreed, he did ok but he's never going to be a regular left back for us.

The kid started his first Premier League game yesterday against one of the top club sides in Europe! I thought he came out on top defensively against Antonio Valencia but also had the courage to go forward and build attacks. He'll get better with experience and I'd leave him in the team if the option is replacing him with Joe Bennett.

He did better than I expected and Bennett wasn't really missed that much , however I think enda will just be back up and Bennett will be first choice when fit - with lichaj as back up at right back that's pretty much sorted .

Bennett hasn't settled in yet as well as Lowton has done but I think Bennett will turn out fine after a few more games . He hasn't really had much of a run as he was overcoming injury when he arrived then got suspended and injured here and his knee hasn't healed properly- once fully fit and match fit I think he will be ok for us.

Better than i feared yday.Have to agree with eastie and dave, played well against a top quality winger in Valencia, but probably doesn't have enough going forward to improve us.For what we paid though, very good value.

Yeah similar to Hogg who let's not forget had a good debut against Man. United a few years ago.

Considering it was his first league start and the quality of attackers he was facing he did okay. I very much doubt he'll ever be more than a squad player for us and in a year or two we'll sell him to someone for a small profit.

I thought that Enda did OK. He had a knack of getting in the way of crosses, albeit he didn't know a lot about them (two hit his head and one hit his back). However, he still blocked them

Its all about taking your opportunities, Enda grabbed his with both hands yesterday let's see what he can do with a run in the team.

Personally I think it's a bit early to say he will never be good enough to be a Premier League regular for us.
I was surprised he did as well as he did yesterday but on that performance I wouldn't sat Bennett was a million miles better than him.
Both are an improvement on Warnock though.
It's not that long ago that Enda was playing in the League Of Ireland so it's a massive step up for him.
I would expect him to replace the marvelous Stephen Ward in the Irish squad very soon...hopefully.
The way we (Villa) are going there will be an all Villa Republic Of Ireland 11 soon.
Burke, Drennan , Grealish, Carruthers and Williams are all knocking at the door of the first team.
The future is bright, the future is green....not lime green.
