Marc has come good because he has been given time to regain his form.   While I am delighted for Marc it throws into sharp contrast the shabby way we have treated J II Makoun.

I'm well chuffed that the goal was scored by a Villa player, local lad, donating to local charity etc, but would have been equally chuffed if it had been a Wigan/Swansea/QPR player etc. I think the Sky juggernaut's unstoppable, but it's enjoyable when not everything goes the way they want it to. Which also kind of pains me as it's a reflection of Villa's standing in the grand scheme of things nowadays.

In reference to that bookmark 20,000 goals thingy (I won't quote it cos it'll take up half the page), how shitty is it that we've scored less goals in the Prem than Newcastle despite the fact that they've been in it for two seasons less than us?!

I suppose having Shearer, Cole, Ferdinand helped a lot, but yeah, pretty shit I agree.

We always seemed to be a low scoring team until the MON era. Even his first season I don't think we scored a lot. I haven't looked up the stats (It's Christmas morning) but, speaking in really broad brush strokes, we did always seem to be a low scoring side that tended to have a strong defence.

Talking of goals and football not existing before 1992, last week I heard Andy Gray and that moron Keys discussing the best goals since 1992.

At one point, Keys asked - and he was serious - whether "we should really only be including goals by the big clubs".

I almost crashed the car, I was so angry.

I hope his cold heart sinks and his spirit is crushed further every time he has to read out the latest deal on fence panels at Wickes, the ******.

Seriously though, on what grounds would you not consider anything from le Tissier's canon in preference to a penalty Chelsea allowed Shevchenko to take out of pity?

I'm trying to think of a great goal his beloved Coventry scored, must admit that I'm struggling.

Oh well, at least he can look forward to playing the mighty Crawley next year, the werewolf prick.

There has only ever been one. Willie Carr and Ernie Hunt v Everton 1970.
The goal was allowed but was in fact illegal and has never been tried again. Cheat ! Cheat ! Cheat !

While I agree with everything you say, Paulie, you really should know better than to listen to that station in the first place.

That's just the best goal ever scored !

Mind you, we wouldn't want his hairiness talking about it.

Why is that illegal?

The guy flicking it up is in effect touching the ball twice.
