He bags the 20,000th PL goal and is donating the money to acorns. Magnificent gesture. Kudos. Moments like this reinforce my pride to be a Villa fan.

In fairness, the prize was specified to be donated to charity.

Was it? I did not realise.
I don't think that any massive bank is going to be able to donate thousands of pounds to millionaire footballers in the current economic climate without any charitable intention involved and expect to stay in business.

It was and Marc chose Acorns, which may seem obvious but was, well, special.  It gives more advertising to the cause.

I really am quite ignorant, then.

Marc Albrighton and Aston Villa go down in Premier League history.

Love it.

good to see him back in form. 2 goals in 3 games.

He tucks in nicely for a winger when the ball is on the other side of the pitch. Got a good few goals doing it last season and again recently.

Just shows the effect of self belief and a dose of confidence. The likes of Ireland, Delph, Nzogbia are all good players too with plenty of ability but just need a break like Albrighton got to get them back in form.

Yeah really impressed by Marc last night.

Some of his balls in were excellent.  A shame there was no Bent or a Gabby on form to make the most of them.

20,000 goals ? What is really impressive is that not a single one of those 20,000 were scored by Peter Withe, Billy Walker, Jimmy Greaves, George Best, Dixie Dean etc. etc.

Yes, proper football started in 1992.

Watching Sky Sports News at the moment and have been for the last 45 minutes. They haven't mentioned the goal, or even our match, at all. Can you imagine how many times the goal would have been shown if it had been scored by one of the Manc teams, or any of their other darlings?

Delighted for him, I still think there's a cracking player there waiting to show his potential.
