Marc has come good because he has been given time to regain his form.   While I am delighted for Marc it throws into sharp contrast the shabby way we have treated J II Makoun.

I'm well chuffed that the goal was scored by a Villa player, local lad, donating to local charity etc, but would have been equally chuffed if it had been a Wigan/Swansea/QPR player etc. I think the Sky juggernaut's unstoppable, but it's enjoyable when not everything goes the way they want it to. Which also kind of pains me as it's a reflection of Villa's standing in the grand scheme of things nowadays.

We always seemed to be a low scoring team until the MON era. Even his first season I don't think we scored a lot. I haven't looked up the stats (It's Christmas morning) but, speaking in really broad brush strokes, we did always seem to be a low scoring side that tended to have a strong defence.
