My Bristol Rovers supporting mate has just text me to say he didn't realize how poor we are and that he has renewed hope for the third round cup game in a few weeks.

Theres a horrible predictability that the team and crowd have all got use to this shit now,and were only 16 games into the season.

All I want for Christmas is Alex McLeish's resignation. It's not much to ask.

Are these players really playing for their manager or are they just average players who couldnt give a toss win or lose?

Lerner needs to make some big decisions here as this team is heading only one way and thats down.

These players do not want to play for this manager, the body language is terrible.

I think you have more chance of finding a Porsche under your tree on the twenty-fifth. He's not going to quit and they won't sack him.

No urgency, no invention, no movement: the guy with the ball just has no options.

They didn't want to play for the last one either. Perhaps we should just let the players pick the manager, then they can have a lovely time not training too hard. Or alternatively, and this would be my preferred option, the majority of them can just sod right off and we can play the youth team.

In fairness to McLeish (and I winced as I typed that), these useless bastards out on the pitch didn't want to play for Houllier either, or O'Neill in his last season. They're bone idle.

We have:

A bunch of players who seem happy to pick up their wages for doing fuck all
A manager who's had his team relegated twice in 3 years
A chairman who seems to have lost his wallet.

The future looks grim.

Houllier got it spot on. He knew we had to get rid of this defence. They cannot do the simple things like retain possession of the football well at all. You surely shouldn't have to teach that to professional footballer. I've seen McLeish go mental on the touchline when he's seen this, and while he has to share in some of the blame, you to feel for him a little bit because his hands are tied for the next couple of years in trying to move the crap out, and bringing new players in. However, having said that he certainly hasn't helped himself by picking the same players week in, week out.
