Well, I think its decent. Not earth shattering but no worse than the Nike shirts and better than a few of those. I like the away kits belligerence.
Also, the support and overall package is much better for Villa. Nike can go and shite.

A shirt will be thought of fondly if the team does well in it. So lets hope we look back on this shirt with teary nostalgia.

I think we'll miss Nike. The all around package, including leisure gear, was good in my view. Could never understand the grief Nike got here.

To release the shirt in the shops months after the season starts is shoddy at best. Good riddance to them.

That was poor. I'm just saying the era as a whole will be looked back on fondly...the stuff looks good.

The Nike kits were nothing special.

I thought they were cack. This new shirt looks the best we've had for years.

I've got the last three years. Only the 09-10 I still like. Last years is horrible and I regret buying it completely.

On a separate note, that band 'Swim Deep' are really good. Just been listening to their stuff on youtube this morning.

I hardly ever wore last season's home kit, it did'nt seem to fit me properly for start, but the medium away version was fine.

Yes they are, if you like them check out another Birmingham band called Peace, recently signed to Columbia Records. In signing to Columbia they got the record label to put up this billboard in Digbeth

Does anyone know whether we will be keeping these kits for the next 2 years? Or will it be changing again next year?

as others have said the away top looks like straining top. I find it hard to see us playing well in that top for some reason!
If we can manage more than 3 away wins in it that'll be a start!

Do we know what price Macron paid us to be our shirt provider? Wasn't he Nike deal worth £25m over 5 years?

We've changed the kit every year for ages now, I can't see us reverting to a two year shirt life somehow.

Keeping a kit for two years makes absolutely no commercial sense.
A new choice every season with the option to opt out is how it should be.

Indeed Maz.  I think there was once a fans' charter that said that kits should be retained for two years, but if it even still exists it's the most contravened law of all time.  If you don't want a new kit every year, don't buy one.  I still wear my AST shirt for five-a-side.

Thanks for that, I'll be sure to check them out too. Always great to see some fresh, musical talent emerge.

Did I read correctly someone said they find it hard to see us play well in that shirt? I lose the will to go on when I read some of the shit 'fans' come out with..

I think what some of you are forgetting is that the new shirt is based on the 1981 jersey, it is not a remake. When they put the effort in to the design of the new shirt they still had to make it original and unique. For Aston Villa, Macron, and the fans, it would not make any logical sense to create an exact re-make of a 30 year old jersey. As a consumer and fan we should be pleased that the shirt is something that hasn't just come from a cookie-cutter template. Personally that's the biggest win-point. I also find it amazing to have a new shirt months before the start of the season. I will be able to wear it in before the first game!

I, personally, love the new shirt. I was at Villa Park yesterday. I had a quick check over and I felt the quality of the shirts before buying one and it was much better than the cheap crap Nike shipped out to us. I've purchased every home shirt since Nike began the deal (I'm starting a collection) and this is by far the best in terms of quality. As I actually wanted to wear this one (as opposed to last seasons home jersey) I purchased the next size up so it fit a bit better, and I could wear it on the over clothing in the colder weather.

I also got me and my mate a brilliant furry hat for £1, so it's not all doom-and-gloom!
