Quote from: mal on February 03, 2012, 05:43:58 PMThere does seem to be a surfeit of people taken in by the advertising. Lets face it at the end of the day it's claret with blue sleeves and needs no design work really since Umbro completed the job in 1974. It's a licence to print money and it's a desirable item because it has the Aston Villa F.C. badge on it not the fucking nike scrawl or the adidas pile of used bricks or the puma pussyQuote from: KRS on February 03, 2012, 07:31:53 PMQuote from: dave.woodhall on February 03, 2012, 07:27:06 PMQuote from: KRS on February 03, 2012, 07:21:57 PMQuote from: mal on February 03, 2012, 05:43:58 PMThere does seem to be a surfeit of people taken in by the advertising. If an identical kit was produced by both Macron and adidas, I can guarantee that more adidas shirts would be sold. I'm already preparing for fans of other clubs taking the piss out of the Macron shirts..."Macron, who are they?!"...I can almost hear it now.Yes it is just a shirt worn by the players at the end of the day, but if we had an adidas kit and merchandise, I can honestly say that I would have probably spent a few hundred quid on shirt, training tops and leisure wear; I wont be spending a penny on anything with a Macron label. I suspect the same will apply to thousands of other Villa fans resulting in a massive drop in a guaranteed revenue stream. Then they're idiots as well. So I'm an idiot for not wanting to purchase a kit or merchandise made by Macron. I may well remember that next time I'm about to purchase my copy of H&V.Yes it is just a shirt worn by the players at the end of the day, but if we had an adidas kit and merchandise, I can honestly say that I would have probably spent a few hundred quid on shirt, training tops and leisure wear; I wont be spending a penny on anything with a Macron label. "Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level"...its best I dont argue with the idiots that dont see the bigger picture and the potential financial consequences of this change in kit manufacturer. Its also nice to know that someone who happens to have a different (and justified) opinion to your own can be labelled as an idiot on here. For the record, I'm far too old to be a chav however I do like to wear Nike and adidas for both sports activities and as leisure wear around the house as it is very comfortable. Just because these are my favourite/preferred brands does not in any way make me a "chav", and likewise, just because I have a different opinion doesnt make me an "idiot".When all is said and done, Macron may provide a better service and design/manufacture a better kit, so we'll just have to wait and see...as we shall to see if the deal could actually be more profitable or has an impact on sales figures.

Honestly, Nike and Adidas are 'more comfortable around the house'? Are your other clothes made of foil?
