Saunders_heroes, is it safe to say you're unimpressed by Macron?

Is it that obvious?

One of the things I always used to laugh at was lower league teams and their tacky kits plastered with advertising. Now it seem Lerner's trying to join in. The man has lost the plot.

The best kit's we've had for years, which have either been recycled from France or a basic template that they use for Arsenal.

I've seen Macron's portfolio, at least they put work in.

I've stated, not my first choice. But I'd prefer them to Nike.

Well get set for kits recycled from the New Den then, 'cause that's what we're gonna get!

Why do you care so much who else they provide for? And less anti-Millwall rhetoric please, I want them to win today!

And yet Millwall, Sheffield United and Charlton Athletic are all made by Macron, none plastered with extra stupid advertising, and generally, all look good.

Is it, really? 1. Millwall's kit is alright. 2. They're not Nike. They WANT our club in their portfolio. They want to work with us. They'll work to make us happy. They'll actually care.

They're not a company that produce quality kits. That's why they produce tat for lower league clubs. The Sports Direct of kit manufacturers, and we've gone and signed up with them. Jesus wept!

Anyway, I'm off to the Villa!

Just having seen a few kits that Macron have done, my feeling is that if you take away the often gaudy sponsor logo, the shirt itself often doesn't look too bad. And that's from someone who doesn't tend to like football kits by default.

The Napoli kit is really nice, it looks kinda... continental, for want of a better word. I quite like some of the designs that they've done for other European clubs, they're clearly not afraid to do something a little different.

Mouse-over 'Football' at the top and it'll give you a list of clubs.

The thing with Nike is that we (if I'm remembering this right) were told that we would be getting custom designs, made solely for us. So the rehash of the Lens kit was hard to swallow for me. Add to that the late releases, not even displaying our shirts in their shops and website, etc. I got the impression they couldn't really give a monkeys about Aston Villa. So I'm more than willing to give Macron a chance.

Having had a quick look through the Macron website, I think the Bologna polo shirt
http://shop.macron.com/eshop/product/Macron-All-Products-BOLOGNA-COTTON-POLO-SHIRT-1011.html/1/pid/37322/frmCatID/20395/
would actually look quite good as our away kit.

I had a look and I reckon we'd be the biggest club they would have on their books. I imagine they would put a lot of time and effort into getting the kit just right and would get it release in time. Good news for the club.

The stuff they make actually looks quite nice and innovative too. I imagine we'd end up with a really good original kit. A good move for the club, to be honest. I don't think we'd be their biggest club, Napoli are particularly big and are ahead of us currently, but we'd easily be one of their major clients.

We're a bigger club than Napoli. I agree though, they are more in the ascendancy at the moment than we are. That said, we will probably shift more kits than them as Italians often buy fake kits whereas that rarely happens in the UK.

I suppose you're right in terms of history, success, and all that. But yeah, ascendancy wise they're definitely on the up.

If we are the biggest club , then they will be some effort into it , unlike Nike .

Nike made nice trackie tops, that's about all I'll miss. The shirts weren't that special.
