He was crap at Blues, and he is crap here.  The only remote chance he had was to be given a big transfer budget and hope that he signed a decent two or three players.  That hasn't happened, and two of the three players he has signed aren't of the level required.  There is nothing I can see from either Lerner or McLeish that gives cause for optimism at all.  The whole club from top to bottom is an absolute shambles.

I agree with Risso.  The guy is crap and it wont get any better - I hope it does so he can prove all us doubters, wrong!  It just wont happen though.  My mate who is a hardcore Nose has said to me that we need to get rid of him as it will not get better.  Everything he is saying now was said at the sty and look where they ended up?  The board got all horny about the fact he won a cup but there was an element of luck involved, I mean, look at the winning goal for god sake!

I'm feeling that way, it is the horrendous football that is the killer though. I think I could handle a midtable transitional period, if I believed it was a transition to something positive and we were trying to play in an entertaining way.

This. There is no leadership or clear direction at that club. I have a strong feeling we will be under new ownership by the end of the season.

They beat us to get there though, even though we had Gerard "he had a plan" Houllier in charge.

What really makes me laugh is that there are people who are slating him now tat when they were doing the same to MON 18 months ago were suggesting that McLeish was the better manager. It was a constant argument on here tat he'd done better in Scotland and that getting Blues to 9th was a major achievement. Now all we get is he was crap at both clubs.

What do you base that on? It's only a couple of weeks since Lerner gave an interview to say he was still as committed as ever and still ambitious. What has given rise you your 'feeling' to the contrary?

I feel there is a sale/takeover on the cards hence the cost cutting measures just like when Doug was looking to sell up

I think if RL had a decent offer (I don't know what that would be) he would gladly walk.

The Browns fans hate him and he's spunked a load of money on us and got nothing back. He hasn't got the resources to keep chucking money at us so IMO he would gladly cut his losses given half a chance

Yes. PF's interview did rule out Randy was looking to sale, but PF did not answer the question about interest in the club.

Am i right in thinking he paid somewhere in the region of £63m?  Im sure the club is valued much higher than that now so he would get some return on his investment

you've got to also factor in that we have been operating at a loss for his tenure so he's entitled to want the additional cash that he has invested too.  Regardless, I think he should just about break even which considering some of the decision making and the luck he had could be a satisfactory return.

I don't know about you Chris, but I tend to take statements from the club with a pinch of salt these days.  We've had The General with his "Imagine what McLeish will be able to do with Lerner's super backing!" and Faulkner's "We're still aiming for Europe!" followed by McLeish's "Erm, just a second, are we....?"

A lot of mixed messages and no clear vision. What has happened to the North Stand redevelopment? Why suddenly a stop in ambition? Why appoint AM? Loads of questions.

I expect us to be under new ownership within 2012; I just hope the new owner will get us back in the right direction.

They always said that the North Stand development would happen when the demand was there. Crowds have fallen for 3 years in a row, there's little point extending when we can't fill it as it is. Perhaps if more people had turned up when they were still spending we wouldn't have seen the change of direction.
